Supportive but slippery
I love that the shoes support my babyโs ankles while learning to walk but the bottom of the shoes are very slippery. It needs non slip grips at the bottom of the shoes

Love these but they are much bigger than size chart!
These shoes are fantastic - they are adorable and are just what I was looking for, for my son. My 11 month old is learning to walk - he can walk very well assisted, and is so close to taking his first steps by himself - so I wanted to find a shoe to help support his walking, and also a shoe that he can't take off by himself! He's been able to take off all crib shoes and socks with the exception of a bootie that fastens with a snap around his ankle so I knew I had to find a boot that could fasten around his ankle. I saw these and read the reviews and had to get them - especially since I love their retro look and knew they would be perfect for his fall first birthday photos outdoors.The only issue (I see so far) is that the size chart is not correct. I measured his foot to make sure to get the right size and his foot measures about 4 3/4" so after reading the size chart, I decided to get the size 5 1/2 shoe which the measurement chart states would be for a 5" foot. The shoes I received are almost an inch bigger than that from back of heel to tip of toe (not including the sole since it has an extra lip around the edge of the shoe)...so I have to return/exchange for a smaller size as they're far too big and look like clown shoes on my guy!!

Fit for new walkers
The shoes are very good for the support needed for the new walker. They are the next best thing to an actual BUSTER BROWN first walker

True to size - much like the old Stride RItes I used to fit on kids
The soles are leather which keeps the kids from tripping, however they are slick for the babes so putting duct tape or masking tape on the bottoms help. Fit is good. Not sure this came in narrow. They would be wide for a skinny foot. LOVE seeing my grand kids in these.
