The towel works as intended. A bit slippery when dry, as soon as I sweat the towel gets tackier. Good size and best part is, it doesn’t retain a funky smell.

I love hot yoga and wanted something to absorb the extra sweat that comes with it. I give this towel and 4 out of 5.Absorbency wise, it does the job well! While also not being too thick.Friction wise, if the hot yoga class isn’t making you sweat quite enough, I find the towel to be too slippery compared to my mat itself. I saw the reviews that say it works if you sweat enough but I decided to try it anyway. Believe them!This Gaiam mat towel doesn't grip the mat at all, so wet or dry it moves around a lot when changing poses. I've tried it in Bikram and Vinyasa classes, found it unworkable either way. It moves around too much and slips and slides too much for me to trust in simple poses.I've been loyal to 2 Manduka Yogitoes for 10+ years. Washing 5x/week they still look good as new! We'll worth the investment in my opinion. They grip the mat well no matter what. Sometimes in the less sweaty beginning of practice theres a slight slip factor (my hands can slip a bit in downward dog, the towel doesn't move). This is easily handled with a spritz before practice if you're less stable on your hands, but I'm often not bothered by it. I wouldn't recommend the Gaiam towel though

I was pleasantly surprised by this towel. It's good quality, and actually helps to not slip on my mat. The purple is a nice deep color too.

I do yoga on my back porch and Florida summers are brutal no matter how early in the morning it is. I was always slipping and sliding on my mat. This towel is the solution! It's soft, comfortable and super absorbent. From the other reviews, yes it does not always stay in place. I expected this might be an issue when I first purchased it but it hasn't bothered me that much. It has made a huge difference in my yoga routine. So glad I bought it!

This towel had good reviews. But it’s a zero in my opinion. It almost see through. So flimsy and cardboard like. It’s lousy. Waste of money literally. It wouldn’t make an ok shammy. Be warned.

Perfect for covering over an exercise mat. Absorbs sweat and does not slip. Gives an extra layer when lying down on your mat. Makes a great gift too.
