Nothing Compares
I've worked extensively with gouache, watercolor, and oil paints. Casein paint is easily my favorite medium, and nobody does it better than Richeson. I particularly love the matte finish, which makes photographing a finished piece SO much easier.Note: I've had a lot of trouble with Cobalt Blue coming out of the tube rubbery and insoluble. This isn't an issue with any other color I've purchased.

Interesting, but difficult media to work with according to me.
Casein is a protein from milk that was already popular in Antiquity and has a very characteristic odor that not everybody likes. It is very thick and not that easy to work with if you do not dilute it enough with water, but too much liquid and it does not cover anything: at that point it is closer to watercolor. I like the fact that when it dries all the brushes marks disappear and the result is nice. It dries fast if you do not keep it moist. Like for any other media I think that you have to be patient the first times you use it because it is a different so you should practice and practice to become familiar and comfortable with the matter. To be tried.
