It cools
It helps, can't complain. I have a very specific scenario where I have two graphics cards and there's not enough airflow between them. This helps with cooling the top card but only by a couple degrees Celsius.

This is how i received the thermal pad
The picture says it all. Even if it is not messed up like this, it is at most half a mm thick.The aluminum part looks nice though.So I am giving it a 3 star.

Helps spread heat if your GPU has a backplate
Have this unit on my PNY 3090 Revel, which has a closed backplate (some video cards do not for which this cooler may not be beneficial for you). Helps cool my GPU by maybe 3°C following a thermal pad change. I'm not mining though but am stressing the video card by LLM/AI usage (Stable Diffusion, Tortoise TTS, Ooobabooga ChatGPT) and some gaming. If anything, the aluminum spreader can help disperse heat off your GPU backplate but the fans also help to send that heat somewhere, right into the stream of air coming from my front plate fans (Noctua NF-F12 PWMs). Overall happy with this unit even if it's not a life changing difference, it can make a difference once you hit your peak.
