That said, we will order another one for the other buildings community room dishwasher too.. as we grimace at the price vs quality. Here is why:Packaging:Prepare to fight to get it out of the bubble it lives in. Be careful not to bend or damage the unit, or worse cut yourself as you fight for it.Construction:Is of course flimsy, all plastic and super cheap to build (read "high profit margins"). The right hand end piece came off the second time we used it. I was not surprised at that. So I just glued the silly thing back on with model airplane cement and was done with it. If yours breaks, It's not worth trying to replace.. just fix it.Design:We have used the "rotary" ones with no pleasure. This is the design we wanted having experienced others... and is the only reason we bought it.The sliding plate is one piece with the handle and is an OK design.. but it does tend to not stay in place properly (as others have noted).I fixed this by using the existing magnets on the back of the unit to my advantage. I first figured out where to place it and then glued an additional magnet to the face of the sliding plate (about 1/3 from top and a bit off of center). Now the back magnets attract the front one I added to each end of the positions and hold it there.Note, this will ONLY work if both of the back magnets are the same pole position when they assemble it.. so you have a 50/50 chance of this fix working. I was lucky. [if the real manufacturer reads this, go ahead and steal the idea and make a better mousetrap.. we will thank you for it]The binary logic sign:The insert that says "Dirty / Clean" is as expected.. and will most likely hold up ok to random splashes. Be gentle cleaning it if needed.Mounting:Well yeah.. magnets only work on steel. So if you have a "Stainless Steel" front or the more common Plastic front of the dishwasher door the magnets are useless (except as noted for my fix).Rather than use the supplied velcro though which makes it stick out too much and does not hold up (as noted by others too), I used some 3M command adhesive strips I had to directly mount it to the doorfront. They are super thin, hold REALLY well, and of course come off fine when needed (hopefully never). Just remember to leave a bit of the pull tab sticking out from below the bottom edge of the sign. When standing you will most likely not notice it... nobody here has yet.Price:Sheesh.. but it is the style we wanted... sigh. You are essentially going to get the same exact product from different vendors on here... just pick the best price of the day. (P.S. even with different words / usage.. it's the same unit, only the insert changes)Bottom line.. everyone wants to get one for their apartments too.SHO Edited 6/7 9:50pm for a typo and to clarify a sentence.

I saw this at my neighbor's house and was able to read it clear across the kitchen. I knew right then that I needed this for my dishwasher at home. It's now stuck on the dishwasher with what I feel is a strong magnetic strip on back. It's so easy to read and I will be getting some for gifts.

This dish washer magnet looks nice and sticks to the dish washer well, and is a good size and easy to read and switch from clean to dirty. My only complaint is that it can easily be bumped from either dirty or clean to the opposite one on accident because it does slide so smoothly. it could use a magnet,Velcro or something to keep it at the clean or dirty side a little better so you don't accident slide it over. It is only a problem for me because I have my plates and bowls above my dishwasher slightly off center to one side and my cups and Tupperware on the other, so I stand right around where my dish washer is (and so does my girlfriend) to reach up to the cabinets, and sometimes it's get slid from clean to dirty or vice versa. It hasn't been a big deal because if it looks clean I just ask if it is clean before I out stuff in there. But if it going to be for a house with roommates or more than a person or 2, especially with kids running by, it could cause a mix up. Overall does the job though and have only put one or 2 wrong dishes in 2 time after having it on for 3-4 months

Don’t bump it, the magnets aren’t very strong and it’ll fall off. I’ve had to glue the two side pieces back on after falling.

I love my dishwasher magnet. It helps my family to know when the dishes are clean or dirty. The magnet is very strong, however it does move around if you do not secure with one hand to move the slide over with the other hand. This is perfect for families and roommates.

Great product comes with both sticker and magnet! My dishwasher is magnetic but I had to also use the sticker because it would slide without it. Slides very nice, a bit bigger than expected but it’s ok. I am giving it 4 stars but it would really be 41/2 because of the fact even though it was completely well packaged, it was dirty and there’s scuffs which drives me a bit crazy since I like everything clean/perfect. Anyway great product, a bit expensive for what you get but it’s okay I’m happy no more fights if the dishes are clean or not!!!

I super duper love this sign have on front of dishwasher when put on I switch to clean when empty I swiped to dirty saves mix ups with the kids

Love it. My husband usually complains about my amazon purchases but gave me 2 thumbs up on this one and uses it with me (which was what I was hoping for). It seems sturdy so far. Easy to slide from side to side and it stays put. Came with 2 Velcro stickies in case dishwasher is not magnetic but mine is. This would make an awesome housewarming/wedding shower gift

The dish nanny comes with velcro stickers but also has built-in magnets! It works very well and we're very happy with this purchase. Now no one "accidentally" loads/unloads the dishwasher when they're not supposed to ;) The slider is very sturdy and the velcro stickers are also very strong if your dishwasher is not magnetic. It looks very clean and high quality and people thought it came with the dishwasher!

I never knew how much I needed this, until started using it. Brilliant idea. Product is of good quality.
