Bragg's is a well known company in the food market. They have a variety of products including oils, vinegars, and salad dressings. The company's mission statement is "to help consumers take control of what they eat by providing the highest quality foods and beverages at a fair price." Bragg's started out in 1866 when Thomas Bragg discovered a health food store in San Francisco. In the late 1890s his son Joseph sold a salad dressing to restaurant owner Lulu Hunt Peters. So many people liked it, she began to sell it from her restaurant. In 1896, the Bragg family decided to start their own business and opened a cannery. In 1900 they moved into a new facility, but in 1906 they ran into financial problems and were forced to close their doors. In 1915 they reopened with a new goal of using only natural ingredients. By 1919, Bragg's was on its way to success again with the help of founder William Bragg who re-introduced some of their key components for health food back into their products. In 1930, Joseph's son Thomas joined the company and focused on improving the quality of their products by adding ingredients like olive oil, lemon juice, etc., to make them more nutritious. His work finally culminated in 1934 when he created the world-famous "Braggs" brand.
