Lionel Richie is an American singer, songwriter, actor and record producer. He has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. His style of music is often described as soulful and his work has been influenced by Motown, R&B, pop and country. He has won five Grammy Awards, an Academy Award for Best Original Song Score and a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. He is also a Kennedy Center Honoree. Richie's debut solo album, Lionel Richie, was released in 1982 and contained the hits "Truly" and "You Are". His second album, Can't Slow Down, was released in 1983 and featured the hits "All Night Long (All Night)" and "Hello". Richie's third album, Dancing on the Ceiling, was released in 1986 and contained the hits "Say You, Say Me" and "Ballerina Girl". Richie has released several compilations of his hits, including The Definitive Collection (2003), The Hits (2004), The Essentials (2007) and The Definitive Collection: Volume II (2011). He has also released a duets album with country singer Kenny Chesney, titled Tuskegee (2012). Richie's most recent album is All the Hits All Night Long (2014), a live album which features some of his biggest hits performed with a full orchestra.
