SimplicitySewing Pattern 1582: Misses, Men and Teen Costumes, Size A, Paper, White, A (XS-S-M-L-XL)

Hubby fancied a cape for LARPing, and asked me if I could make one. I started sewing in lockdown (forty years since I did any at school). Not knowing wear to start to draft a pattern from scratch, I decided to find a pattern that I could tweak to exactly what he wanted. There's plenty of room in the cape (hubby has 54" chest), so I only needed to narrow the sleeves to get him what he wanted.It was easy to sew, with no complicated curves.

This is a very versatile pattern and can easily be adapted for many costumes. Easy to make, clear instructions. The sizing is generous too.

Made a reversible magical cape for my nephew, who will be playing Prospero in his school's production of Shakespeare's The Tempest. It turned out so well! The sizing was great for him as a 4th-grader, and the hood in particular looks perfect when pulled over his head when the cloak is fastened closed -- drapes wonderfully! Very happy with this pattern for a costume.
