Not quite accurate
Some of the torque specs are wrong, which could lead to a broken bolt or stripped bolt hole. One that I noticed was the spark plug torque. There's actually two different specs, for tall and short plugs, but the book only lists the higher spec. Short plugs require higher torque to prevent them from backing out from vibration. This could damage the engine where tall plugs are used.

I wouldn't call it a repair manual, Vage information inside...BMW secrets not included.
HAYNES are always good to have and have never failed me when it came down to doing repairs myself. But being that its for BMW....they left out a whole lot of stuff...i wonder how much BMW paid HAYNES to withhold vital information that can be used to diagnose and locate certain sensors and problems. This has the basics that your car manual in the glove box has..."This is how to start the car..., the battery is located here..."

Just as it’s described.
Great for DIY’ers. Detailed descriptions of how to remove and replace everything in the vehicle.

Unimpressive.
This manual doesn't really provide any useful information. The topics it does expand on are just common sense stuff. And the stuff I could've really used, like torque values, fastener size/tools needed, etc, not so much. I'm not really sure who this is written for. Pro's aren't going to need any of this and for a diy'er, like myself, there's nothing I needed. I've since downloaded the Bentley Manual which actually seems written for people with brains, just not brains with this info in them. While I feel the Bentley manual is so much better then this one, I actually have found Google and YouTube to be invaluable while working on my car.

EASY TO FOLLOW
Covers all the mechanical areas of the car. Wish it was more in depth to some of the features but work the money for those of us who fix it ourselves.

Does the job for any driveway mechanic.
I think these books are great. Yeah the pictures are sometimes disconnected a bit and the instructions are sometimes vague. But you can do just about anything you need to do with one of these books. I've used them for multiple Hondas and Fords, the BMW one is fine. Sure you can get the 'real' service manuals, but for the price, this one gets 95% of what you need to do.

Can't beat Haynes for the price
Not quite a Bentley Books manual, but definately several cuts above Chilton. At a quarter the price of Bentley and a tenth of the price of a factory set of CDs, this is a must for the shade tree mechanic, but not to be used for a restorer.

BMW e46 fix it book
Everyone knows to get the Bentley for the best at the highest cost. I already have that.So when I saw this at a low price, I decided a second book for my car would be interesting. No surprises, no disappointments.
