Nice wooden bowl, has the usual plastic coating that most bowls these days have...Probably not worth the 7ish bucks that I paid (for two), but it was still a very nice price for the internet these days...Seems strong and not flimsy. Has a nice woody look to it, obviously, the beauty of nature :)

This bowl is a very good size to hold a shaving soap puck. It’s a little wider and deeper than typical shaving bowls which is nice because there’s more room for building a good lather. Also, as you can see in my pics, it looks better than in the ad pics. Rich detailed wood grain with a nice sheen to it. I’m very pleased with it!

I bought this to use as a shaving lather bowl. As far as the bowl goes it would make a nice little soup bowl, there's nothing special about it but nothing particularly bad, it's medium weight medium durability piece of finished wood. I get a little nervous eating out of finishes, but I have to imagine they used something safe to shine it up.For my uses it makes a fantastic shave bowl. It fits my dr harris wood soap bowl perfectly (not to mention they kinda match since they are both wood), I later my brush in the soap then I put a little hot water and swirl it around in the miso bowl, the slight texture and perfect size gets me a great foamy lather in just a couple seconds and like I said my smaller bowl that contains the soap fits perfectly in it. So for this purpose I love it.Whether you use it for soup or for lather it's got a great price. It's not super elegant but it's simple and functional.edit: this thing has really held up. been using it as a shave bowl for a few years now and despite constantly being dried out and rinsed out by all that soap and lathering (the wood has gotten quite dry) it hasn't cracked. I guess some people have just been unlucky. I've really abused it and it's held up.

Looking for a mug to whip your shaving lather? Don't waste your money. With shaving brush in hand, this bowl allows one to whip an exceptionally creamy lather. I've used many mugs, but none have worked as efficiently for building a lather as this wooden bowl. And the shape of the bottom allows me to hold it either by the bottom 'stand-like' geometry; or buy hold the bottom and keeping my thumb of the rim. I use it with 1/4" slice of Arko shave soap  Arko Shaving Soap Stick, White, 12 Count  that sits at the bottom of the bowl. After the first round of lather, the water from your shaving brush will be sufficient to affix the soap to the base of the bowl. This tehnique makes the best lather ever. Others use bowls, many more expensive or simple soup bowls; but this wooden bowl looks great and performs as good as much more expensive bowls. Arko shave soap is packaged in a cylindrical stick form rather than the traditional 'puck'. Hence, slicing it into small circles of 3/4" (+ or -, precision isn't important here) thicknesses is very easy to do--the soap is not as hard as bath soaps. The key is to place a small bit of soap in at the base of the bowl to give yourself the space to whip a good lather.

I had ordered this  Wooden Rice Miso Soup Bowl #5251  from "Sold by JapanSuperMall and Fulfilled by Amazon". A few reviewers have mentioned they it arrived cracked so i made sure that the order was Fulfilled by Amazon knowing that if it ever came damaged Amazon would replace it with no problems.I bought this wooden bowl to be used as a DE shaving bowl, I'm sure it can be used for many purposes as well. This bowl itself measures approximately about 2-1/2 inches tall, the width of the inside bowl is approx.4-1/4 inches, The inside bowl is approx. 2 inches deep and the base is approx. 2-1/8 inches wide.I would describe it as a cute little bowl, The base of the bowl fits snugly around the palm of my hands As I can hold it easily by the base, it came very well packaged and without any scratches or cracks. Good quality at a reasonable price.

Really great, and we use them daily for salads and breakfast, and whatever with the kids. I'd say look for the full set or something though. I can't help but think how out of place just a few wooden bowls are. I would have rather bought a whole set of wooden items, but I think some of the sellers are just chopping up sets to sell here, although I'm not sure. This bowl is a great product, but the value is only sort of o.k. It's a simple wooden bowl, with a golden price tag. If wood was really this expensive, I could chop a few trees down in the back yard, and buy a new truck. I don't think so, it seems like the more realistic price point should be like 10 for 2 bucks or something like that. I love my wooden bowl, but mostly because I live in fear of plastics.

I received these bowls today and I absolutely love the size! THINK: The larger the bowl the bigger the portion and these bowls are perfect for portion control. They are small but just right, not too small but definitely not big. I'm really excited about these adorable bowls. Like other reviewers may have mentioned.... they do look nice enough to use for something other than eating from. I didn't notice any problems with the wood. Mine are in perfect condition. I do not intend on putting these in the dishwasher because they look so nice. I will wash them by hand. They are beautiful and are reasonably priced. I only purchased 2 because of some of the not so nice reviews where others said the wood was not in good condition. But now that I have received them, I do intend on purchasing more since mine looked just fine.
