PIONEER 920 mAh XMP3 and Audiovox XMP3i LONG LASTING RECHARGEABLE BATTERY- PDA-XM11

I'm curious if I'm the only one having this issue...I have used these batteries in my Pioneer XMP3 for years. My XMP3 is almost always left docked in my car using the proper car mount kit. When left charging in the car, I noticed that the back side of the XMP3 (where the battery is located) gets very warm. Within a month or two, the sides of the battery will begin to swell slightly. After a year, the battery has swollen so much, its expansion caused the XMP3 battery cover to crack. At that point I throw out the battery and get a new one.On the battery itself, there is a statement saying "Maximum Charging Voltage: 4.2V DC". If you have this plugged into a car where the DC current is usually in the 12.5 - 13.5 volt range, isn't this overcharging the battery? I'm wondering if my unit has a firmware issue or some other problem that is allowing the battery to be overcharged.

This is a great replacement for my original XMP3i battery. The fit is perfect and it seems to hold its charge very well - I charged the battery and stored it in my drawer for 2 months and it still had more than half of its charge left. My original battery would give me less than 2 hours of satellite radio on one charge and had ballooned up so much that the battery cover was difficult to attach. This new battery gives me more than 5 hours of play on a single charge. IF anything should change, I will update my review promptly.

This battery has worked great in my XMP3 unit that I listen to when I do my daily walks (1-2 hours per day). I did learn from previous experience that you should only charge the unit on the "home" cradle. If you have a car cradle, REMOVE the battery before using the unit in your car, otherwise it will overcharge and swell the battery and the cycle life will be severely impacted (it appears the car cradle does not drop the charge voltage...this is the fault of the XMP3, not the battery).

Pioneer XMP3 battery replacement. This seems to take a good charge and holds it well. Fits perfectly and the pricing with Amazon Prime was good as always. Time will tell how well it lasts as we are only in about a month as of this writing.

Sirius xm radios used a Tyco battery when I bought it. Now those batteries do not seem to be available on the Sirius website so I bought this battery instead. I don't think it has the same exact rating but is close. In any case it lasted three hours the first time used so I felt that was good. It was a good fit into the radio and seems to hold a charge ok.

This battery replaced an overheated factory original and may even be of better quality. It has worked well for the last couple of weeks and I walk with it everyday. Wish I could say the same for the quality of XM radios. My husband joked that it would probably break once I started using it and I am already having problems with the dial working. Good luck!

OMG this is so much better than the original. I am careful with letting the battery run out completely or almost dead before recharging mine lasts at least 8hr on a charge to & from work on bus 1 1/2 hour commute round trip. When I get to work I take out the Battery & use the adapter. Rocks for me the other battery lasted 3-4 hours.

So far it works great! No problems with it. Doing fine as we speak. Would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a replacement battery.
