Lovely Irish symbolism. Nice size, good price. As others have stated, chain not great, but I've got better chains I can use. Just got, so can't speak to tarnishing.

The cross was exactly as it is in the picture, and appears well made (no visible seams or shoddy welds). The chain is.... Not very good, but hasn't broken or anything; it just looks and feels cheap. Easy enough to replace relatively cheaply, though.

I have been looking for a simple cross yet with "decorative detailing", and this one seemed to fit the bill. The reviews about the intricate detail were good so I ordered it. I knew an 18 inch chain would not be long enough for me so at the same time I ordered a 24" silver chain in the same style from a different Amazon source that listed their sterling silver as Italian SS. I received the pendant with it's 18" chain and the OTHER SS chain at the same time.The chain that comes with the pendant was dark. The pendant, although lovely, doesn't seem to have the weight of sterling silver for a solid (not hollow) pendant. The cross has the 925 stamp on the back, but it also has a "China" stamp on the back. I find it questionable that this is truly sterling silver; perhaps it's part silver, but I have my doubts. Additionally, I paid $29 for it and it lists the "original price" at $160. There is NO WAY this chain and necklace would ever be worth $160.Because I ordered this item for $29.00 and a replacement chain for $19.99, I ended up paying $50 bucks to end up with the pendant and the ideal replacement chain. Btw, the Italian chain is beautiful, what I expected from Italian SS. (I buy and own a lot of SS most of which is from Israel, Italy, or Mexico.)I only received the cross a couple of days ago and will likely send it back and shop around for something similar, but probably at a local store where I can check the quality before buying. The cross is lovely, but for its weight and questionable authenticity of being SS from China, it is not worth even $29.00 If you've ever bought SS from discount retailers (TJ MAXX and Marshalls), you would know that a pendant this size even when genuine SS, can be found for about $20. If I had NO DOUBTS about the quality, I would suck up the cost even with the crappy chain.I took pictures of the pendant with its chain, and also pics of the replacement SS chain, but can't post them with this review. The pics show a good comparison.
