I have another question in reference to Depth of Field, where you can focus on one object while the background behind that object is sort of blurry.

Excellent question. Bridge cameras such as this one have a very small sensor compared to standard DSLRs such as the K5 or K50. This allows them to have much smaller lenses and large zoom range. However there two drawbracks. The first is more noise due to the much smaller sensor size. The second result is very large depths of field. When taking pictures of close up objects such as insects or single flowers on a plant, this is an advantage. However if you are trying to take a portrait of someone, the sharp background will be a distraction. I usually use photoshop to blur the background with this camera as I have not found a way to vary the aperature setting to minimize the depth of field.

I am not familiar with a bridge camera. Can you provide a definition?

It's a cross between a point and shoot and a full featured DSLR. This camera has a number of exposure options and an effective, although limited, manual focus. Frankly it's a very nice camera and an excellent choice for the price. It does not have interchangeable lenses. In full automatic mode it does very well. Great auto-focus in situations where there is not much contrast or in low light. I've had mine for about 6 months and couldn't be more pleased.
