Salix Bat Wax has been especially formulated for Salix cricket bats, but can be used on any cricket bat as a new alternative to linseed oil.  Salix Bat Wax acts like an oil by nourishing the willow, like a protective wax by sealing the grain, and like a polish as it buffs up after application to make the blade shiny rather than oily.

i believe i managed at least 3-4 coats with the small size so its good for a single season preparation i suppose
It does what it says on the tin, i believe i managed at least 3-4 coats with the small size so its good for a single season preparation i suppose. The Salix web sight recommends using buffing the bat once then allowing a couple of ours to dry before knocking you bat in, from there another 2 buffs is recommended.I guess the best advantage of using the wax over the linseed is how nice and shiny it looks compared to how oily the bat feels after using the linseed oil .. also as with most things how quick you can get to work on the bat compared to the linseed oil.I deducted a star as i believe it is slightly over priced ... then again this is the only bat wax currently in market as far as I can tell
