Great Insight & Real History
I'm what you will call a millennial Temptation Fanatic! I love The Temps, especially the David Ruffin years, I was raised on this kind of music because my parents didn't allow us to listen to rap so we had to listen to their music (lol) and this book was, of course, a must have for me! I must say Mr. Otis Williams did a great job of telling the story without any slant or bias. He raised the good and shortcomings of each member without revealing maybe secrets that shouldn't be out. I read the Kindle version and finished the book in two days, I couldn't put the book down. I would recommend this book to any fan of good music and especially The Temptations!

It was written the way it was supposed to be!!!!
I am rendered speechless. People may have their feelings about Otis but someone had to tell the story. When I read the reviews some people said he left out a lot of information and tried to make himself look like the sanest one in the group. I understand that this book from his eyes/point of view but lets face it....who in the "classic five" had the capacity to write a book. I've done my reading around the net and I learned with any group, there will be egos and outside influences that would tear up a good thing. We are lucky to have had the Temps as long as we did especially the "classic five" and "classic four plus Dennis" eras (which I have strong preference for). This book in an easy read. I wanted more details but I feel Otis was looking out for his classic five temp brothers and honoring the families buy NOT putting allllllllll the business (the highs and extreme lows) out in the streets. He gave us just enough to enjoy. And i'm glad he did. Class act.At times I wonder how Mr. Williams is doing. I'm sure he relishes in the memories of so many years with such a talented group of men. I'm just glad he decided to write a book. If he did'nt, what would we have? If you are a Temptations fan, you need to own this book before the available copies get bought up.

The Temptations
Another winner in my Temptations collection. I just purchased the updated Kindle version. Honestly, I found it difficult to put down. It's a good read. I would have more pictures in it throughout the book. It would have been great to have good portraits of each of The Temptations and their personal bios and contributions to the group.I would've also made the discography neater and put the singles next to their albums.I grew up listening to The Temptations and I still listen to them daily. I've not been able to meet them or go to a concert or get autographs--but they are truly my favorite group ever. I have more music by them than by anybody else. They've been part of my good times as well as the bad ones.I learned some new things about the gentlemen of soul and so will you when you read this book.Reading this book was like sitting with Otis and listening to him share his memories. I have the mini series DVD and it's great. There were times I cried watching it. I've watched it many times over -- and it was like going back in time. The casting was perfect and everyone was great in it. The music I cannot say enough about -- so I will just say Temptations 4-Ever.Thank you, Otis for sharing your heart -- in the music, in the dancing, and in this book.If you happen to read this review, I want you to know that I count The Temptations as one of my greatest blessings in this life.

What a great book!
I watched the mini-series "The Temptations" on TV last week and was so intrigued that I immediately bought the book. To be honest, I wasn't expected the book to be that great but, wow, was I delighted to be so wrong. It's very well-presented, with excellent grammar and great insights. The love and affection Otis, the storyteller, has for his partners shines through on every page, even when he's being honest about everyone's (including his own) faults. And the many photos are a bonus. I was actually sad when I finished the book and I don't say that about many books.

From a fans view
I read the book after I saw the movie and noted many discrepancies that I fond interesting. I met up with Mr Williams to get his autograph and was able to speak with him about these issues and found out that many liberties were taken with the book to make the movie more "Hollywood" interesting. I found the photos amazing and was captivated by the personal interactions between the many members of the group through the years. I am a huge fan and can't wait t meet the co-author to get her autograph and insights.

Good story about iconic group
Good story about this great group. Otis Williams hits many of the high points and low points of this iconic group. If you think you know the Temptations, you will probably be surprised at some of the back stories that Otis reveals about the Temptations and several of the other Mo-Town groups. However, if you are not a fan of the Temptations music, the story probably won't be of much interest to you.

I love the fact that he (Otis Williams) told everything in ...
Well written and insightful. I love the fact that he (Otis Williams) told everything in such a way as to the fact you felt you were right there during the ups and downs over the years. He brought to light all of the lies and scandals that have been told over the years. Very good read.
