I'm not a plumber, so I did not realize that 3/8" is more like 1/2" to 5/8". The old unit look the same but must be what a plumber would label 1/4". After several trips to the hardware store, it's finally done. Every connection that could leak did. Had to replace all the old tubes and connectors. A kit might have been a better choice for me. A boat load of pipe thread compound minus the tape plus curing for 24 hours is what finally worked to stop the leaks. The filter works well.

First off, its a well built unit, however, it does seem a little flimsy when its hanging off the wall. Maybe I'm used to wrenching on things harder then they should be? Its sufficiently strong and will server its purpose well for years to come..The hard part.. Most fittings now days are 1/4" IP, 1/2" IP or 3/4" IP... 3/8" IP has fallen out of favor I guess.. Most freezer, ice maker kits are 1/4".. The unit I got is 3/8". It was a bit challenging to find the hardware I was looking for, but ultimately, I was able to find some 3/8"IP to 3/8" compression elbows and the 3/8" copper tubing and it all went together beautifully. I will have to report back in a year with the long term review, but initial quality and ease of installation was good.Third, I wish it came with a sump wrench.. Not a negative since it didn't say it did, but still would have been a nice touch.

1 st unit I received was a used repack 2nd Item received came incomplete. The product description states cartridge & Hardware included, NOTHING in the box except housing. Even the product video shows tubing and all the quick connects.

Purchased this 2 stage filter system to replace my GE 2 stage which had seized up and one filter could not be replaced. This system fit the same standard filter cartridges and approximately the same space - Once I finally got the system installed - I did the standard 1 gallon flush & it delivers filtered water as expected.However this system does not include the fittings nor does the system provide either a link or recommendation. I leveraged the type listed in the specifics to find ones (from another site). The system also includes an added red button on the intake side. Since no directions were included - its leaves you questioning.

Awesome filter system. Great value for the price. Installation was a little tricky because the inlet and outlet valves were an odd size. Had to get brass adapters to make it work with plastic pipe. But it works great and I'm pleased with it.

great price for a super-convenient bracket and already piped together. for the price, it saves a bunch of hassle. i use this all the time now in my kitchen - just make sure to buy the right attachments on amazon, as homedepot/etc don't usually carry this size. if you do that, making this setup work under your kitchen sink is a breeze. good bye brita :)

I thought Filters were included! My bad! Unit looks EXACTLY like my old unit ..... fittings were NOT included and this new unit does accept the hook ups from the old filter.Bummer .... so currently I have no functional filter.

Filters housings and mount are good. Coupler leaked between the two heads on 1 out of 2 of these.. I recommend replacing the short cheap plastic one that came with it with a brass one which is longer and will be more durable. Easier to do it before you install it. I like that the O-ring on the these pentek housings are recessed in this model and the threads are above the O-Ring. I also have a 20BB which has the O-ring on the top of the lip, so you always worry it will slip when fitting it inside the top. Overall good product, but they shouldn't have cheaped on this part.
