If you want a serious professional tool, I can’t help you. I’m having too much fun with my new toy. Tried two others, disappointed. The monocular ($550) was too clumsy with a small screen (gave it to my son-in-law for hunting) and the smartphone plugin ($750) seemed like a good camera, but the controlling software crashed like an airplane out of fuel. This one works so well I hate to put it down.

If you use this device as a pure IR camera you can't beat it for the price, just don't rely on the optional built in image blending to overlay the visible spectrum.
