Excellent value
Only used twice but very powerful. Went through brick work brilliantly. Wish I hadn't bothered with my rechargeable drill previously.

Good little drill
I’ve always had a problem drilling into plaster or masonry and was beginning to wonder if it was my technique. I decided to buy this as I suspected my cordless hand drill wasn’t powerful enough - even when fully charged. I’m glad I did - used it today for the first time and put a shelf up in minutes. Feels nice and solid and well made for the price but not too heavy for a female in her fifties to handle. It was easy to control the speed as well. It drilled into the plaster in my 1930’s home really easily and cleanly. Wished I bought one sooner…..

good, basic drill
Good basic drill, well-made and with a decent keyed chuck. However please note the 450W version does NOT come with a handle, and despite the description is NOT variable speed. But for this money, it works well enough if you need a relatively compact and inexpensive corded drill to cover most domestic tasks. Please bear in mind the fitted cable is very short, and if the drill is used at about the height of a Black & Decker Workmate , for example, the cable will not reach an extension cable on the floor! This is penny-pinching, and shows that whoever designed the drill never ever used it to discover this simple fact. And extra 12 inches would have cost very little extra.

Brilliant bit of kit for the DIY toolbox!
I purchased this drill after moving into a new home last month. After a few days in the house, I had a list of jobs and knew I was going to need to invest. I already trusted the Black & Decker brand, my grandfather had one of their drill that he purchased in the 70s!The drill arrived quickly and I paired my purchase with the bit set. My first job was fitting a wired Ring Doorbell, I needed to drill a hole right through the external wall to pass the power cable so I also purchased a bit set with a 30cm masonry bit. With hammer mode engaged, the drill passed through the wall like butter! It really was the easiest of jobs.I’ve also used the drill to fit a retractable washing line and paired it with a hole saw to enable me to pass a cable trough my desk, I have not yet come across a job that this drill is not up to!My only criticism would be the keyless chuck. It can be a little awkward removing a bit and I think a key would be useful so I have removed a star for this.Overall my purchase has only cemented my trust in the Black and Decker brand and I would definitely look at their other products if I identify other jobs that need a specific tool.

Very cheap
A very cheap replacement for my old Black and Decker drill. I don't make a lot of use of so it wasn't worth paying a lot more. Also, wanted a plug in drill as there's no point in charging a battery for very infrequent use. It did seem odd though that the depth gauge is not supplied, considering how cheap a little metal rod must be!
