Cleared up Foggy Hazy Water HERE IS HOW I USE THEM
I've been trying to clear up my aquarium water for quite a while and have been using the Hydor Professional 250 cannister filter for many years, it's great. It just wasn't clearing out everything, so I've been on the verge of using chemical clearing mixes, which I'd rather not do.I decided to put TWO filter pads in the top tray of the filter system instead of ONE... I figured if one works "ok" maybe two would be better? There is plenty of room for them. The pads are designed with two filtering densities... the course weave is most of the pad and then there is about a 1/4" of fine mesh that gets those tiny bits. When I put two together in that tray and put the filter back online, SUCCESS!!! Even the fogginess went away. So, from now on, I'll be using two of these in the top tray rather than one. I have the Hydor 250 servicing a 54 gallon bow-front tank and the current is a tad strong. So, I was also hoping that the use of double fine filter pads would help cut down a little of the current.I had a lot of trouble researching the White Floss filter pads to learn what micron level they filter out? Most fine filters will do 100 microns, I think these are doing a little better than that and are nearer to 50 microns as no visible particles are returned to the tank water.Yes, I plan to throw them away each time I service the system, if you don't, those fine "foggy" bits and particles will be finding their way back into your otherwise crystal clear water.I definitely recommend these as well as they Hydor Systems. VERY pleased.
