good product, very good 24/7 customer support.
I don't normally write reviews, but I felt I had to in this case because I had an issue and Generac took care of it right away, so here we go:I did many many hours of research before buying this unit. I really liked the idea of a selectable power wheel, and let me tell you, it may seem hokey at first, but it is extremely useful. I have used this for about 5 months now. I used it to clean my fiberglass boat a couple times, and to clean all the moss off my roof. on the lowest setting it is not much more powerful than a normal plug-in electric washer, using the wash tip. with the unit on max power and using the blast tip, I accidentally cut through the gel coat on my boat in one spot, my fault, not the pressure washer.I have had no issues at all with the unit. I was a little concerned after reading the reviews about the remote cut off switch on the face of the unit, but I never had an issue, it has worked well for me. One feature I really like is that to change the oil, there are fill ports, and drain ports on either side of the unit, so you can use which ever is most convenient for you, and with the provided extended funnel filling the oil is much easier than on some other units. Now to my issue. I was washing my boat and the high pressure hose ruptured and started spraying everywhere. I looked up the Generac customer service number, and was surprised to see that they are 24/7. I called in and they asked me for my serial number and the date of purchase and with no further hassle they sent me a new hose right away. I didn't even have to send the old broken one back, just toss it. So since I have experienced customer service first hand, and the unit itself has worked flawlessly for me over the last 5 months, I will give it 5 stars. This is powerful enough to border on being a commercial washer but priced as a home washer. overall, I am very happy with my purchase and foresee using it for years to come.A note on build quality: the front face where all the controls are located is strong plastic, the frame is metal, and the wand holder and washerfluid are all fairly strong and should stand up to casual abuse fairly well.

Great unit! Check your on/off switch connnections and zip tie the soap tube if needed.
Model 6602. LOVE THIS PRESSURE WASHER! It starts first or second pull every time. It has loads of power! I cleaned my epoxy coated garage floor with a fisher price (Karcher) electric washer and turbo tip and it hardly made a difference after a second go. I tried this GENERAC washer with the turbo tip and it was striping off the epoxy coating. Incredible. Not that it was chiping but the fact that this uint had the power to be able to do that. I promptly attached a 25 degree tip and went to town cleaning and picking up the slack that the "top of the line water cooled karcher" couldn't touch.I've been using ths pressure washer for a year now and the only gripes I have had are: 1.The on/off switch was unplugged out of the box. Easy fix. Just push them on. I noticed this while checking out the back of the panel and pressure selector. 2. I had to route the soap tank tube. Not really an issue just plug each end into it's respective orfaces. TIP use some zip ties and run it along the frame.I could not be more happy with this uint. I will be turing to GENERAC for my generator needs soon!!!

Good pressure washer, horrendous packaging
It took two shipments to get a unit that wasn't damaged. The first unit arrived on time with the handle broken, loose parts and a damaged oil fill funnel. Amazon promptly replaced it with expedited shipping. Upon assembling the second unit I noticed the wire for the on/off switch was disconnected and the male spades on the back of the switch were bent from a piece of packing material that is jammed in between the front of the washer and the engine. I looked at the original unit which hadn't been shipped back yet and it had the same problem. Luckily I was able to straighten the spades on the switch and reconnect the wires. After filling the washer with oil and gas it started right up and works great. The adjustable output pressure is a nice feature.. I've used the unit several times with no problems. So in summary, the washer works as expected, Amazon was great in replacing the damaged unit, but Generac needs to hire a packaging engineer to properly design a shipping container. The existing one is not intended for shipping so examine yours closely when it arrives.

Generac Open box is GREAT, but beware if you are not mechanically inclined on items like this.
I purchased this for my dad, as an early Christmas present, since he has been wanting one to wash his house before winter. The open box is always a better deal but you just never quite know what you are going to get. Just beware of the more expensive items like this. For shoes and small items it is a great, less expensive option. First let me say my husband had purchased the exact same one In August that wasn't an open box so we know/how it was supposed to come. When he tried to get it up and running, #1 there was no manual. That too is okay, since you can print one right from the internet, so no big deal. #3 The clear hose that is a working required part, was missing. Okay, so we bought one. Again, not earth shattering. #3 he couldn't keep it running and not coughing and cutting out. Luckily he is mechanically inclined, so he knew what to check. When he got to the last item it could possibly be, he took the cover off the air breather and the filter was completely soaked in oil. That is something that you just DO NOT do. The motor couldn't get air, thus the cutting out. Once he cleaned it and dried it out, it worked fine and so far so good.So this is not a tragic end, and it is running fine now. Hopefully it continues to run since it is an item that is not inexpensive. Just BEWARE of open box if you are not familiar with the item or not acclimated to how that type of machine/item should work. If you are, then it's a great option. If it continues to run okay, I will come back, update, and give it 5 stars.
