Philip's World Atlas: Hardback

Cheap Price and Good Quality. Excellent Reference Book. No full maps of the Islands (Portuguese Islands= Azores and Madeira, Spanish=Canary Islands, Cabo verde islands. No Zip codes and population for the USA.Good Book to Buy.

This was bought for a housebound friend who wanted to see where places were that she heard about on the News. She has found it invaluable and we occasionally look at it together saying, "I never knew that this country was next to that one!".....etc. It contains masses of additional information and is helpful with her grandson's homework. A great atlas as you would expect from Philips and a great success as a present for my friend.

Firstly, amazing service from Amazon UK, received within 24hrs of ordering even in these weird covid19 times (April 2020) - thanks!I've needed a compact and comprehensive atlas for some time, though I do have a copy of the Times World Atlas from 1988 which is comprehensive but slightly out of date and definitely on the bulky side for quick reference - often easier to Google!OK, as for this atlas, I'd rate it 4.75 stars, and the removal of the 0.25 stars is down to what I perceive as poor shading of particularly mountainous regions, where the colour contrast obliterates/makes difficult identifications of place names in those areas - yes, some of us do actually want to find those places, strange as that might seem? For examples, look at the shadings at the foot of map 26, top left of map 34, left side of central South America in map 94 - I know my aged eyesight isn't great and maybe I'm being picky, but 4.75 out of 5 is still 95% very good. Don't let my pickiness put you off if you want a very good, reasonably priced and comprehensive World atlas, this will do most jobs for anyone, not least picky old me!

I liked the quality of the paper used, the clarity of he text and that it was very easy to find what you were looking for. I use it for general study.

Purchased for 11 year old for geography homework, arrived on time and has lots of other information and details apart from great maps. Would recommend.

Lovely atlas with lots of fascinating social information as well as maps. Bargain price too. First saw this atlas on a cruise ship in the cabin and liked it so much decided to get my own copy.

....it's a bit harm the book doesn.'t contain more United King dom maps and detailled adiminstratives UK régions, great london and other great cités plans.So said, you have enough detailled USA maps it s good.

Sensible size and price for keeping up to date.
