Poor packaging let’s this kit purchase down.
The kit itself is great. Unfortunately Amazon let themselves down by not including the outer boxing these kits were sent out from Revell with.All they did was stick postage stickers on the box with the artwork, which I like to collect. These stickers do not come off without taking the imagery with it. I’ve tried. Disappointing.Also it reduces the protection for the 2 large hull sections, the cardboard for this having been damaged. Fortunately the hull sections were ok.The Gato I purchased elsewhere came in this and the inner box was unmarked.I imagine it’s Amazon saving weight for the postage but I’m not impressed. I will think. Are fully before ordering another expensive kit for them.

This is a BEAST of a model...!
Wow- bought this on offer with Amazon monthly payments- too good not to miss. For the money, you get a 1m long U-boat and a wealth of detailing addons such as a wooden deck and a mass of brass photo-etch. This kit has massive potential to build up into a "museum quality" display item and if so desired, a basis for a working/diving RC model (additional kit required). The box is a top-opener, with the items well packed and sectioned to prevent any damage. No glues or paints supplied (always bugs me when i see Amazon reviewer state this!!!), and the instructions come in two booklets (one for the standard build and the second for the supplied after-market mods included in the box). There is a large amount of cross building between the books, so I would advise a long read-through and study/dry fit before starting construction. Once complete the model can sit on a stand (supplied) and there is a bobin of rigging line (a first for me in my model building). All in all, a stunning display piece once built- just make sure you have a big enough space to display this monster! - can't wait to start mine. :)

Absolutely one of the best revell u boat kits I've had the pleasure of making a wealth of detail especially with the PE kit added what I could of this but was a little bit fiddly for me perfect buy for any enthusiast loved working this kit my first in over 15 years
