Salifert Dissolved Oxygen Test Kit

I really can't say how accurate this is, since I have no other way of testing the oxygen level in the water. It only took a few minutes to complete the test and the instructions were clear.

I used this to test the oxygen in an aquarium that had an unexpected fish death. I thought the oxygen was probably OK based on the filtration I was using, and this test confirmed that it was fine. It was only a little more complicated than other liquid aquarium test kits, so if you've done the nitrate test with the multiple chemicals where you have to shake the bottles and wait 1 minute here and 5 minutes there, this should be easy for you. It was a LOT easier to read than other kits I've used for water testing, probably because this one comes with a little cup instead of the skinny tube that comes in most kits. I was skeptical based on some of the reviews, but after using it I have nothing negative to say and I would definitely recommend it.

Too many steps and the test strip gave off color that matched different readings.Didn't know what was correct.

easy to use and has worked every time except the first time I tried to use it, the water stayed clear, so I think I did something wrong. Is giving me pretty consistent readings on 3 different tanks for a week, so I'm happy with this purchase. Even though I thought the price was too high, it's worth it to know, especially since I did end up needing to add more oxygen to one of my tanks.

I recommend this product highly. I have a farm pond and this product works great for testing O2 levels. I had no problems with deliver and product was exactly as described.

Tested several aquariums....have similar readings. 8 PPM which is fine for freshwater...however i got suspicious as it always gave same results. Decided to test this on a bottle of water that was sitting in a spray bottle for a year. Guess what...still showed 8 PPM / pink color giving false sense that there is adequate dissolved oxygen. Makes no sense. I am wondering if the process of using the included feeder tube is the issue as it forcefully squirts out the water and since it stirs the water....it introduces O2 into the stale water. Just a theory. Will try without using the squirter.

The chemicals and instructions were ok, the plastic vial was shattered, still able to use as I already had glass vials. The box looked stepped on. Not the outer amazon box though.
