If you ever made stilts out of oatmeal containers or something like that as a a child, these are a more durable pre-made alternative. Just high enough to be fun and entertaining without going to the full fledged experience of actual stilts.I bought these a year ago for my 6 year old at Chirstmas time. She LOVED them, as did her 2 year old sister and 4 year old cousin. They had a blast taking turns walking around the house in them. The two older children got a (wobbly) hang of it pretty quick. The two year old needed someone to hold her hand, but then could walk around with the stilts on and felt like a real "big kid".This is a toy that still gets played with on a regular basis a year later, and it's been fun to watch how each child has progressed in her mastery of how far and fast she can walk over the year. Given the self-modulation of challenge (speed, distance, height of steps, etc.) this toy presents new challenges even after simply walking is mastered.

These are much better than the yellow "steps" with green plastic stretchy "ropes" that I had in the 1970's....lol.Bought these for my 5 yr old boy/girl twin grandkids and it was hilarious watching them walking like robots or mummies at first. It didn't take them but a few attempts to get it down...then they walked around amazed at how everything looked from that height and what they could "see - over" & reach now....lolThe steppers are hard plastic and the ropes are strong and adjustable to their appropriate hand-height. Walking on carpet was the best....I told them not to walk on the tile floor because I could see them slipping & falling. Of course by the end of the day, they had to show me that they could....which they did good but they did bust they're bottoms more...lolThe price was good and the shipping was fast.

This is my second order, I got these originally for my 5 year old and so I ordered anotger set fory almost 3 year old. They love it!

My grandchildren loved these! They are 5 and 3 years old, and the 5-year-old was especially able to master them quickly.

Fast shipping, my daughter wouldn't get off these things all day! **Product could possibly lead to injury**. The way they advertise that you can use them on any surface is a bit misleading. I thought they would have rubber around the bottom, nope. The ankles roll quite a bit when the buckets flip out. Be careful on wood floors, carpet/outdoor works fine.

The 4 and 5 year olds at my kid's preschool successfully use these without too much falling or adult assistance. The 3 year olds need some help. All the kids enjoy this outdoor toy. Plus, I've seen them throw it over a sturdy tree branch and sit/swing on it. It's used primarily on wood chips and grass (plus my carpeted floors). I wouldn't recommend it to be used on tile or wood floor.

But none of 4 granddaughters (ages 2 to 9) played with them very often
