Good for beginners, with some exceptions
This puzzle book is good for beginners, but the difficulty of the 5x5 puzzles vary wildly. Some of them are actually quite difficult. They are going to frustrate beginning solvers and confound even the more experienced.

Great for my 5-year old
I got 5-year old into this. Great way to sharpen simple math and logic skills.

Makes you think!
I discovered KenKen in an airline magazine and was hooked immediately. It's similar to sudoko (which I don't enjoy) but also different as it involves math functions. Start with the easiest and work your way up to more difficult "puzzles." You learn a lot as you do!

Clear instructions
Easy to follow directions. If you’re interested in learning how to do these puzzles, this a great starter book.

Good for younger kids (1st and 2nd graders)
Good for younger kids since these puzzles only apply addition and subtraction. For older kids, a different book with more challenging puzzles will be better

Great for Kids
This book is SUPER easy, a bit too easy for my taste. After doing a few I passed it on to my 12 year old and she loved it. For myself I purchased the New York Times/Will Shortz 300 Ken Ken Puzzle book. It was more challenging and exactly what I was looking for.
