Tree Works Chimes' 3-D Triangle is one continuous piece of hardened alloy steel. It combines a 4-inch, 6-inch and 8-inch triangle into a three-dimensional sonic sculpture. The sound is further refined with a high temperature heat treatment for brilliant response. The ultra-thin satin finish protects the triangle, but is so thin it does not impede the sound, even when played with the most delicate touch. It can be played as a traditional triangle with a single stroke for accents incredibly rich in overtones. Or you can play it with two hands (muting with one, striking with the other) to create complex Latin agogo bell-style riffs. A truly unique instrument that will add other worldly effects to your playing. Comes with a full size professional stainless steel beater and mount that allows you to attach it to a normal cymbal stand. In the summer of 1996, Tree Works Chimes was created by Mitch McMichen. It began in his garage in Nashville, Tennessee. The first set of chimes was made with a hacksaw and a hand drill. It didn't look like much, but that was the first step to crafting the perfect set of chimes. When asked about the early days of Tree Works, Mitch replies, "I wasn't trying to start a company. I was trying to find a sound." Since then Tree Works Chimes has grown to become the most respected chimes in the percussion world - used by top studio and touring drummers and percussionist as well as the top 24 drum corps. These instruments are still handmade in Nashville, Tennessee and are unmatched in craftsmanship and sound quality. (It is of note that Mitch McMichen has earned Gold and Platinum records for his recording work in Nashville.)
