Sawtooth 10-Watt Electric Guitar Amp

It's hard to believe that an amp this small and inexpensive can sound as good as this one does. I play acoustic/electric guitars and they sound great through this amp. It can be difficult to get a clean acoustic sound from a "non-acoustic" amp, and I'm surprised at how good my acoustics sound through the Sawtooth. The bass, treble and midrange controls work nicely and provide just the sound I'm looking for. The overdrive delivers, although my acoustic style rarely (if ever) calls for overdrive.The amp is nice and light, weighing in at around 6 pounds. I was looking at portable amps costing more than this one and I'm very glad that this was my choice as I see no need to spend more.The Sawtooth is perfect for practice, personal jamming and small (very small venues). I even put my Vocalist live box through it and got very nice results.I can't speak for longevity since I've only had it for a few hours, but the build offers a quality one might expect at this price point. I'm very pleased with this amp and would highly recommend it.

Value for money. The two channels work great and give a crisp and mellow sound. I would recommend buying it if you want an economical amp for personal playing.

I'm reviewing this as what it is: a small practice or bedroom amp that is portable.In that capacity, this amplifier works well. In a world that is so obsessed with "modeling" technology and trying to cram too much into a small amplifier, this is a nice change of pace. It doesn't do much, but, what it does do, it does well. The controls are pretty straight forward, and the gain knob will take you from a nice break up to full distortion. I think it works best at the slight break up end of the spectrum. The sound is good.The fit and finish are impeccable. The tolex covering is smooth and even. I've seen much higher priced amplifiers in this class that don't give near the first impression that this does.Bottom line is this, it's a good amplifier for around $40. It sounds good, does the job, and looks fantastic. I've only had mine for a week or so, so I can't comment on how long it will last. Seems like with normal use it should last awhile.

This is an outstanding little 10 Watt practice amp. I run Digitech effects through the input jack on the far left. I place it at ear level, like my studio recording monitors. The sound allows for full-sounding amplification, but without requiring that the volume be turned up a lot, in order to achieve the desired sound, like with a lot of very large amplifiers. As a practice amp, it is small in size, slightly larger than the old metal lunch boxes from the 70's, slightly wider than a cereal box. The sound is surprisingly good and the clean tone is clear. An excellent value for the guitarist who wants portability, or for the new guitarist, working their way up the ladder of increasingly better equipment. For the price, this is one of the best practice amps out there. I chose this over the Vox 10W and the small Fender Champion. This amp is also part of a bundle that comes with the Squire mini Stratocaster, gig bag, cables, and picks, which is an excellent starting set for youngsters beginning their guitar journey

I should probably give this a lower rating but since I fixed the issue I'll give it a three... when received and plugged in the amp powered right up and has a much bigger sound than you would expect for its size... however, it became apparent immediately, that there was a loose screw inside the amp shaking on the speaker cone that was distorting the sound with every heavy chord... after some small work the piece was removed and all works well... most consumers would not have wanted to take the piece apart... you expect something to work as soon as you receive it. Honestly would have received 5 stars if not for that anomaly.Edit: I have to bump the review to 5 stars for the vendor's response. Having read my initial review they emailed me and refunded me a portion of the purchase price for the work that needed done on this. Honestly, you expect something to work out of the box and that was disappointing but I got it working and the vendor cared about the fact that it required more work than it should have on my end.

Pros: Great price! Slim and compact. Knobs have a nice feel to them. Pretty well built. I like the controls being placed on the top back along with the input and headphones jack. Also, i like the 1/4 inch jack for the headphones.Cons: I've gotten the sound decent, but I can't use the treble, middle, bass knobs on clean. I hear bad distortion when playing heavy chords. Someone suggested this might be an acoustic amp. I'm not sure. I have an electric guitar with EMG pickups. Interestingly, I hear the distortion in both the speaker and through the headphones jack. I will try to determine with tests that it is the amplifier distorting or clipping the heavy chords and post back to here. If I plug headphones directly into my guitar, I do not hear the distortion, but the audio is maybe too soft to notice.
