Kraft Tool DW184 Decorative Texture Roller - Tree Bark

I was apprehensive when I bought this roller due to some of the reviews, however with some experimentation I found the perfect easy way to use this roller to get excellent results. Initially when I tried using the roller I found it to pick up too much paint and leave lines on the item I was painting due to the design. There are divots cut out along the rollers center section, but not at the edges which is why I encountered lines. The best way I found to use the roller and by using this method I ended up with a very realistic looking tree, was to paint a thin cost of paint onto the roller with a paint brush, only coating the center section not the edges. By keeping the smooth edges free of paint I was able to eliminate the problem of lines, and by applying the paint in a thin coat with a paint brush I was able to control the amount of paint being distributed onto the piece I was painting. The process was very quick, and I was able to complete my project in no time. I started by painting a solid coat of nearly black paint on the project. I followed that up with a layer using the tree bark roller and a dark brown paint. Next I applied a lighter shade of brown, and lastly a very light layer of a light gray. I love the results. Sure wish the company would have included these type of instructions with the roller, it would have saved me lots of time and paint. There were no instructions with my delivery.

Expensive, does the job... happy with the results.

Does the job it was intended for. Made my walls look fantastic. Would have given 5 stars, but I feel it's a little pricey.

Easy to use and the pattern worked really well

The texture wasn't quite as heavy as I expected but looked awesome nonetheless. Easy to do. The vein pattern goes up or down depending on whether you're rolling from bottom to top, or top to bottom. Cleans up easily.

It wasn't exactly what I was going for, but I like the way it came out. I included a picture to show what it looked like. This was globbing on filler then painting over.

Easy to use, delivered before time stated, fairly easy to clean, worked fairly well on our ceiling but didn’t give the expected result so we used another texture roller along with this one and achieved the result we were looking for.

This roller is just ok. The pattern is not much different than a texture application roller.To make this roller pattern work, the layer of mud must be very thin, even , and not too dry.What I did like is, the pattern is so random that there is no reason or need to align with anything. Just roll it in one direction only.

Did not work like the video I watched. Tried doing several ceilings with different thickness, but did not get the results I wanted. Will keep trying
