I installed an electric heater in my garage mounted on the ceiling near the garage door opener. I got tired of turning it off and on every time I went into the garage so I purchased this temp controlled outlet. Easy to set up. I put the outlet on the ceiling outlet and mounted the wireless thermostat on the wall next to the door into the garage. Now it will maintain a set temperature when I'm not out there working and I can easily turn it up when I go out there. I'm thrilled with this purchase as it was much cheaper to buy this and the electric heater than an electric heater with built in temp control. I could see all sorts of uses for these things and in fact, bought one for my dad after I'd had mine awhile.

Bought one about 3 weeks ago and works great so bought a second one that came with no instructions and previously setup by someone. No doubt it was returned as was not wrapped like the previous one. Good thing I still had instruction booklet from the first one.Anyway, kept it and it has worked great like the first one. I use the on portable A/C units that would run all the time. Now they automatically turn off and on at my set temperatures. It's amazing how much less they need to run. The A/C's cool multiple rooms and I can place the thermostats wherever I want as the wireless goes through the walls. Great little devices. Now just hope they last as the price seems too good to be true. PS. instructions for setup are not the best in the world but figured if out after several minutes of experimenting.

I was really looking forward to using this to control my window mount swamp cooler. The thermometer in the remote seems pretty accurate and does read down to the tenths. The problem lies within the plug control unit that failed on the first turn on. It had no issues with a 17watt LED light but didn't even turn on the swamp cooler and then never worked again. Had to return.

Temperature control worked well but backlight will not stay on. This is not described correctly on Amazon. A button has to be pushed to see the display which soon goes back off. Instructions are not very good either. I like that it is rated at 1800 watts.

Works amazing to keep our bathroom warm and at temp using a 1,500 watt comfort zone quartz infrared ceiling mount heater. The click of it turning on is way more quiet than other thermostatically controlled outlets i've tried.

Using it to control a fan in a cabinet with electronics that was getting too hot. Now the fan kicks on whenever it gets above 80 degrees.

Wasn't long after the return cutoff that the plug stopped transferring power. Do not recommend purchasing.
