Zurn Wilkins 34-NR3XLDUPEX 3/4" NR3XL Pressure Reducing Valve with Double Union PEX Crimp Tailpiece Connection

This regulator worked great for our home. We were having so many water pressure issues. We had a plumber come out to fix another issue but said he would charge us $1500 to replace our water regular. Psh! My husband watched some YouTube videos and replaced it for himself for a fraction of the cost. Now our water pressure works like a charm!

This was a 10 minute install. It couldn't have been easier- definitely easier than the rebuild kit would have been.

This valve Worked straight out of the box and solved our waterhammer problems immediately. We kept experiencing rattling pipes. We installed an air vent valve and waterhammer arrestor, but this did not solve the issue. The problem was intermittent so it was difficult to figure out the cause. My husband started troubleshooting and by a process of elimination, he eventually realized that the problem only occurred when the water tank that we have installed at height for use as a gravity feed for a system, was almost full. He realized that the high pressure of the water supply was causing the float valve to flutter when it was almost at maximum fill level, causing the back pressure, reverse flow and water hammer. On installation of this pressure reducing valve, it worked instantaneously with no adjustment necessary at all.

My water heater was leaking a little and put a meter on it and was getting some pressure spikes. This regulator was easy to install and solved my problem.

This is listed to come with two pex connections but the box only contained the regulator.

this replaced a Conbraco Industries 36 ELF 1240IX 3/4 double union. lengthwise it was 3/4 to 1 inch shorter, so was not a exact direct replacement. I had to extend the pex pipe to accommodate the shorter pressure valve. it did come with two connectors and two washers read some other reviews that complained only one connector, but I did not find that to be a problem because it came as pictured.

The PEX connections are screw on, not made into the brass chassis of this PRV. That's fine, but you are introducing two o-ring-sealed connections to your main water line, which is frustrating. I'm sure they'll be sealed for a long, long time, but I would rather the PEX barbs to not be attachments. It seems like Zurn sells the same PRV and provides different connections to screw on based on your need. A cost savings measure.

Replaced my 23 year old PRV (previously a Wilkins BR4, discontinued and replaced with NR3XL). I originally bought a Watts brand from Lowes and even though it was NPT 3/4", the thread pitch was different enough that it wasn't a direct replacement without a bunch of extra replumbing. This one fit perfectly and fixed my inconsistent water pressure problems.

We have variations in the water pressure and the old valve was not working anymore. Installed this one and all worries gone.

These item was sent to replace a defective unit, as soon opened the box I noticed this unit was new. I'm glad Amazon replaced it.
