Surprisingly good, BUT...
Like many Chinese optics, the manufacturer's specs are overly optimistic. This is not a 12X50 optic. The objective lens measures 40mm, not 50mm (the surrounding rubber housing measures 50mm). The magnification is nowhere near 12X; more like 6X-8X. And, from what I can tell, only the front element is multi-coated. Now the good...I own many optics examples and after running some comparisons I can say that even though the objective lens is only 40mm, it is brighter than true 50mm binoculars that are single coated or uncoated. Next, I actually prefer the 6X-8X magnification because it's easier to hold steady than 12X. Now the really good...There's a knurled rubber ring located in front of the twist-out eye piece that looks like a zoom control, but isn't. Instead, it affects the close-focusing distance of the device. Rotated fully CCW, close focusing is the usual ~20'. But rotated fully CW, close focusing comes down to an amazing ~6'. This distance is amazing and usually costs hundreds; this is a BIG plus! Other plusses include the highly textured surface of the device, the tethered front lens cap, the carrying pouch, and the overall apparent quality. Also, color fidelity is excellent, sharpness and contrast are very good, and the field of view is acceptably wide. The phone mount was just okay (and resulted in a small, blurry, circle-shaped image) and I wouldn't trust the plastic screw on the wrist strap. So..in conclusion, while the specs were very inaccurate and misleading, the product itself is quite good and well worth the price.

Misrepresented Lens!
The monocular is NOT a 50mm front lens, as measured it is only 40mm. This is a huge misrepresentation and impacts performance greatly. This must be corrected! Buyer beware!

Amazing little gadget for the price
I rarely post Amazon reviews, but I was so impressed with this little guy that I had to get the word out. After you fine tune the setup and get the weights of everything balanced, this monocular does a superb job of matching with a phone's camera lens and utilizing an OS's digital zoom functionality to the fullest extent. I did some non zoom and full zoom comparisons with my Pixel 2, and then a non zoom and medium zoom with the monocular in the shots of the yellow Pontiac. I then tested out the (amazingly simple to sync) Bluetooth remote to a red Cadillac further down the street (it moved before I could do more shots), roughly 50 meters away and still was getting shots to initiate successfully. The full zoom onto the license plate on the last picture really freaked me out on how clear this thing could get a shot. Can't wait to use it in nature for some mountain pics.I rarely post Amazon reviews, but I was so impressed with this little guy that I had to get the word out. Also ---- When I buy technical items, I always read the lowest rated reviews first to figure out the weak points in the product. In reading ones for this device, I can tell that the people leaving 1 stars are too impatient to set it up properly, and have no idea how a typical set of binoculars or a monocular actually works. Its like they have no idea that the manual lens adjustment needs to be made with each viewing distance, as well as your camera phone's. My only complaint would be that the tripod is a little light-weighted, so it can shake if its not setup on something sturdy

Good product
I purchased this for my phone . It does come with a small tripod, good for on the go pictures, however I would recommend a professional tripod if you want to take professional pictures. The pictures come out very well, although it can have a bit of a glare if it's super sunny. Overall it's great for beginners and enthusiast looking to get into monoculars. highly recommend.

Very recommended
This is certainly an amazing monocular that I was looking for a very long time. It is sturdy and easy to hold. One can enjoy watching nature, hiking, hunting and many more with the help of this device. The monocular connects easily with the smart phones and works well. One can see clear and bright images. It comes in a nice bag and a tripod. Worth every penny I spent on this. Can be used personally or as a gift.

Don't buy
Spent an hour trying to get it to take a picture with my iPhone XR. Couldn't get the brackets and the phone to stay lined up properly. When I finally got it aligned, the frame of the photo did not fill the camera, only a circular area inscribed within the phone back. Didn't manage to get a single pic worth keeping on the phone. Sending it back.
