Berlebach Wood Car Window Mount Tripod - Small

I was looking for a window mount to use for my spotting scope, the plan is to use a good tripod head and attach the head to this window mount. I could not find a complete system tripod head/window mount that would fit the Manfrotto quick detachable mount on the scope, so needed to buy two separate pieces - tripod head and window mount. This window mount works OK, except for two issues. The description says it has a 1/4" mounting screw and an optional 3/8" screw is available. No, it's not available, maybe in Germany. So you need to get an 3/8" adapter, which is doable but annoying to have to run around to find an adapter. All my other tripod heads have a 3/8" screw on adaptor included, it costs a couple of cents for the manufacturer at most. Secondly, there is the I guess somewhat common problem of the tripod head twisting on the window mount and unscrewing itself whenever you pan the head. This is solved easily enough by tripod makers like Manfrotto with screws that tighten and lock the tripod head to the tripod base. Not sure how to fix the twisting and unscrewing part, maybe I'll have to drill some locking screws in the mount. So this window mount works as intended, although I would have to say it is really overpriced for what features are included.

This clamps to your car window and replaces your tripod. Great for bird-watching, safaris, and anything else involving taking pictures from your car. 1/4" mount. The RRS ball head with arca-swiss clamp mounts directly to this and works perfectly.

The quality was as good as I was hoping for. Very functional and easy to carry around. Has become a valuable part of my photography equipment.
