Absolutely silent "DC Motor" ceiling fan
I have this for a couple of months now and us it a lot! I first purchased a ceiling fan at Home Depot with "Quiet Technology Plus". It was difficult to install, and awkward having to cram the remote control receiver into the fan mount body. Unfortunately after all that work, it hummed and wobbled so I returned it. I have been researching DC motor technology for some time but they seemed expensive, but because "quiet' was a priority, I took a leap of faith and paid another $100 to get this one. I'm so glad that I did.It is light, easy to install and the receiver is built in to the fan motor - no extra wiring to do. The fan motor itself is absolutely silent. The only sound is the wind noise from the air movement off the blades, which I find very soothing (especially with my tinnitus).Stop being cheep (like I was). For the price, and these can get expensive, this is a good deal. It has 2 LED lights that are dim-able and are very easy to replace, if you live that long. The motor has 6 speeds (forward and reverse). The remote works great. Even if you don't end up getting this one, if a "no hum" motor is important to you, at least go ahead and pay a bit more and get a fan that has the newer DC motor technology.

Great fan
I bought two of these and one of their big 72" ones. Terrific units. Check the specs carefully and you will see that these offer state of the art technology and a complete feature set at a very good price. Look is clean and contemporary - there are certainly other designs out there but again technology and features for a good price won in this case - YMMV. All three worked right out of the box, no problems. All perfectly balanced on 12" and 24" extensions. And boy do they move air.Because I have three in three adjoining rooms, I had to program each one differently which was easy. One other thing, I had reason to talk to the factory while sorting out the extension and they are very helpful. This is a new product for them and they appear to be committed to making it a success.

I was worried the lighting would not be bright enough but the two LEDs are actually pretty bright and light the whole room
Bought this fan for a windowless room 11 X 11.5 (126.5 sq.ft). I was after something clean looking with a DC motor. A "Kendal Lopro" from Canada was ideal but too expensive for our requirements. Was worried this may look too big but it does not. With only three blades it is less intrusive to the eye than a five bladed fan.Really moves the air, it has 6 speeds and even on the lower settings you can feel the air in every corner of the room. On high the papers on the desk start fluttering. It is silent. OK on high you can hear a whisper of the air moving.I was worried the lighting would not be bright enough but the two LEDs are actually pretty bright and light the whole room. Plus they can be dimmed. The fan was straightforward to put together with only two wires to connect to the ceiling. It feels a solid and well engineered fan.Cons: I would have liked it more in white.

Absolute Garbage
Low quality mounting bracket, bulky construction, outdated and cheap remote, blades are poorly designed so they make the air choppy and loud, and the light fixture is dim. Already replaced one of these with a less expensive and better quality fan.

very very quiet, but dim
This DC fan is very quiet, and we can sleep with it on, and had it for about 2 years; however, do not expect it to light up the room. The 13watt CFLs are not bright, we found LED 12watt that are bright, but they don't work in an enclosed fixture---still looking for LED Bright that meet the requirements: type T with a E26 base and 13watts of less (this is the fan's stated max rating). Again, very quiet: and affordable.

Good airflow, ok light output, and it looks like something out of the Jetsons cartoon
I've owned two of these for about six years. They circulate air really well, and their remotes are easy to use. I wish that their led light fixtures put out just a little more light, but since I have two of them in the same room, the light situation works out. I think these things look like something out of a 1950's futuristic sci-fi movie or tv series with their three blades, dome tops, and silver finish. I really like them.

Nice fan, but can only be controlled with their poorly functioning and proprietary remote control
Looks nice and is quiet, but you can't use a light switch to turn the light off and on and the remote control works poorly (must point it at the fan and press the button several times before it responds, even after resetting it several times and trying a different frequency). Westinghouse should have disclosed the fact that a light switch will not work before I bought it (it is not mentioned anywhere - in the manual or in the details shown on their website), not after paying an electrician $200 to install it. Customer service did try to help, but there was nothing they could do because the fan can only be controlled with their poorly functioning and proprietary remote control.

Excellent Fan
This is a great ceiling fan. If the instructions are followed, installation is very simple. It appears to be perfectly balanced (no wobble). The only thing we changed were the included CFL's. We had chosen to light the kitchen with "white" LED's, so the CFL's appeared a bit "yellow". We replaced them with 12W white LED's. There is no hum and it looks really sleek. Gives off plenty air on high setting.Great product.
