I just got these for cutting the fret end on a bass im making. In all fairness I am using stainless steel jumbo frets, but after only cutting 11 frets (22 cuts in total) its already losing its edge and there are dents in the cutters. I'm sure they are brilliant for regular fretwork but for the stainless its a bit of a struggle. it takes a strong grip to cut my frets.

It's a bit pricey but doesn't disappoint with its quality! Pulls frets out without causing damage, would not recommend cutting strings though as thicker strings can cause burrs to form. Very sturdy and easy to use.

Does the job. Maybe a little bit stiff to open but still works well.

These are a good pair of fret cutters.

Very disappointed with these fret cutters. They were only used to cut 12 nickel silver fret wires (not stainless steel) at which point they started to blunt! I have just returned them to Amazon.I cannot recommend these cutters as they do not appear to be fit for purpose!
