Pantry Moth Traps

Have a moth infestation? Get the double potent traps, you will not be disappointed!! I live in the middle of nowhere and could not figure out where the heck these dang moths have been coming from. I’ve cleaned my pantry, cleaned my cupboards, they’re literally just everywhere! I’ve found them in sealed glass containers! How??! Anyway, spouse found an open bag of cow feed in the house hiding behind a side table in the breakfast nook, pretty sure it was the source. We threw it out but the moths have continued to plague us. I’ve used these traps (the regular version) before and they were okay. I’ve been feeling desperate, so I searched for them again and found these advanced formula and got them. Okay, they were delivered, I immediately brought them into the house and standing in my kitchen I ripped one trap open, peeled the protective backing off and… I was immediately SWARMED by moths. I swear to god! Ever see Ave Ventura call all the animals hidden in his apartment? Ever take a bag of bird feed to Venice to feed the pigeons? Ever watch a zombie movie where they all run toward that delicious human? Yeah, that was me, but with moths. Suddenly, I was a moth goddess! This sounds a lot cooler than it is because they were flying in my eyes, and trying to go up my nose, and in my ears (they were a little confused, but *VERY* excited!!). I stuck the trap on top of my fridge and now I have moths congregating up there like a little moth 0řgŷ. These traps work! Like, holy sweet baby cheez-its, I knew I had a moth infestation, but wow! I had no idea just how insane it was. I spent 15 minutes in my kitchen after setting the trap just sucking up moths that landed on the cupboards and fridge with a handheld vacuum as they made their way to the trap. When my arms got tired I switched to a paper towel and played Whack-A-Moth. So, if you’re in the fence, don’t be! Get the advanced formula (double potent) traps and get out there and krill, krill, krill! (Yeah, yeah, I know it’s spelled wrong! It won’t take my review if I spell it correctly!)

The Dr Killigan Pantry Moth traps were exactly what I needed. I had a massive hatching in my home due to heat in the house & the pet food they began taking over. After doing extensive research about the months I ordered these pheromone traps to help catch what I thought was minimal & only in one area of my home but after placing these all around my home I saw just how many of the moths were in other places & these traps worked beautifully. I caught hundreds I didnt even know were hiding in other rooms. I highly recommend these moth traps, the cost is the lowest I found & worth every penny.

These are amazing! The moment I opened the foil wrapper, I was swarmed by pantry moths. I had already removed everything from my cupboards, tossed anything cardboard, and cleaned the shelving with bleach. But these traps STILL drew these little jerks out of hiding. I have had two traps set up for an hour and have already caught around 20 moths. Would DEFINITELY purchase again and recommend.

These seem to work pretty good, and they look nicer than the ones usually sold in the store. I put a small nail up on the wall near where I was seeing the moths and hung it on there. I put another in the kitchen where I was worried they were going so I could catch them if they came in. It seemed to help quite a bit. Easy to set up and just pitch it when you are done. I suggest being patient and leaving it up until you absolutely don't see any more moths since they may hatch in batches, and you have to be sure you get them all before they start a new generation. Now if they could come up with a way to stop the little buggers before they start flying, that would be great :-) Keep in mind these attract the moths in by using pheromones, which only attracts the males. If it gets all of them, that would keep the females from mating, but it doesn't stop the females from making more babies if they find even one male. So you still should kill any (and ALL) moths you see to get the females and wayward males. The females lay eggs (usually in a food source), which then hatch into nasty little caterpillars. Those little things crawl up to a high place (often the ceiling), make cocoons, and hatch into the moths as little breeding machines. To truly wage war, you need to get them at all stages and block their access to food sources. Tip: If you are seeing pantry moths flying around, put up one or more of these traps, and figure out where the moths are coming from (usually a food source with grain, rice, or wheat), and check absolutely everything in there. Somewhere in there is probably an infested container full of the little caterpillars (their first stage after hatching). You need to find that container to eliminate the source or they will spread into other things. Carefully seal, bag, and pitch everything that has caterpillars or moths in or on it. You can't salvage any of the infested stuff, nor should you want to try. Sorry to say. If you're not sure if it's infested. Bag it or seal it up and leave it somewhere in "quarantine" to keep an eye on it. If it doesn't cost much, I'd just toss it. When you have the area cleaned out of potential or definite infestation, clean the area really well, especially shelves, corners, and even the walls and ceiling (look for little cocoons and get rid of them). Only after it is all clean, put things back that you feel sure aren't infested. I have lost $100s in food for me and my pets from these nasty buggers. I got them once from infested dog treats that were infested from the manufacturer, and another by an infested bag of wheat flour. Now everything that might be infested is bagged or put in a sealed container. Watch bird seed as well. It is notorious for having these things.

As you can guess by the photo, I purchased two competing brands. The super efficient one is the Dr. Killigan’s traps. I cannot recommend them enough. Absolutely blew me away.

I'd been battling pantry moths for several months. During that time, I'd cleaned out my cupboards, vacuumed, wiped with bleach water, pitched the infested grain products I found and started laying bay leaves on cupboard shelves and placing in every new package when I opened but not used up. Cereal. Multiple flours. Rice. I'd probably pitched $50 worth of product, easily. I'd bought one product and it did help, but didn't eliminate the problem. Searching through the different products offered here on Amazon, I discovered Dr. Killigan's and noted that it contained pheromones. There were higher priced items, and lower priced. Decided to give this a try. I emptied my cupboards once again, double checking for infested product. I did find one that I'd apparently missed the first time, so out it went. But I could find no other active infestations. We were typically swatting and killing (or trying to) about a half dozen moths per day. I took the first trap out, and set it up. As I peeled off the backing for the adhesive surface and pheromone strip, there was one corner that tried to peel the adhesive off as well. Now THAT is my only complaint. The scent was pleasant, and not too strong. I set the trap up per instructions, and attached it to a magnetic hook which I planned to stick to my metal hood range. This is where the first WOW comes in. As I was reaching out to attach it to the range hood, I observed several moths emerging from the TOP of my cabinets! There is sadly about a 1" gap between the tops and the ceiling line, because that gap leaves a very slim area that is almost impossible to clean. Those moths had been holed up there, and were emerging FAST. Within 5 minutes, there were nearly 2 dozen moths swirling around that trap. Some landed on nearby surfaces, not quite sure what to do. But I simply left them to see. After 1 hour, there were 14 moths in that trap. 2 hours later, there were 23. The next day, 31. So I once again went through the primary offender cabinet, using the opportunity to rearrange things and clean it good. When I moved the posts for the shelf support, I noted that there were webs in some of the other holes. Getting a few handy cotton swabs, I cleaned each one out. 3 of them had larva in them. Went through the adjoining cabinets to check the holes there, but found none. I've gotten over 60 moths in the ensuing days. Every so often, one will still surface. The last one spotted was about 5 days ago. I will keep these traps on hand, and plan keep track of any additional "KILLS!" So happy with this product. I've never had this problem in 50 years, and hopefully won't again. I suspect the origin for these was from some bulk organic flours I had purchased due to my gluten free requirements, so will monitor more closely in the future. Three weeks in and the first batch of traps is still in the pantry, and finally the moths 'might' all be gone?

After seeing the reviews on here I had such high hopes that this would work for the small moth issue I have. I researched a lot first to make sure I had the right moths (pantry moths) and then set up the traps. Unfortunately I had no success, even though several moths were seen near the trap. Absolutely gutted because it is a lot of money. Its obvious from the reviews that some people have success though so maybe just bad luck UPDATE: after my review the seller contacted me to discuss some solutions to improve use the traps. After a couple of weeks they got back in touch & I still had not had success. The company refunded me without me even asking. Top service. Would 100% recommend
