I bought these because they were velvet and also had the straps to stay in place. Honestly I didn't even need the straps to hold in place with the non slip backing, but then I have leather chairs so I'm not sure on cloth. These are very high quality and soft.

We love this product. We bought two recliners 3 years ago and they were a fake leather material. One of the two chairs started "peeling" right away. The other is still in great condition but the bad chair continues peeling, all over the chair. I bought the chair cover to hide the ugliness of my chair, not wanting to spend another $400 on a chair. When I decided on this product I decided to purchase two of them. Wasn't sure what my husband would think. He LOVES it! Our chairs are both identical except for the peeling, they are both very comfortable but this takes it up a notch. The material is great and I love the pockets on the side! I would definitely recommend this product whether you have an ugly chair or not. We love them!

Some purchasers complained the pockets were in the way of the reclining mechanism. My recliner has a lever and the cover fits perfectly between it and the chair. I did not prewash the cover because I wasn't aware of the recommendation until it was too late to fit the cover before my sister awoke the morning of her birthday. It does have a slight chemical smell that I'm confident will dissipate shortly. The cover does not slip on microfiber. I did not install the straps. The arm cover part is a little long but that may turn out yo be a good thing.

I’m so impressed! The covers are a thick and soft. Large enough for my huge recliners. The best covers I’ve ever had. Keep up the great quality. I will use this cover again!

This cover is very soft and cozy. The backing really clings to the chair. It has pockets on the right side. I keep the remote in one, my phone in one, and the iPad or a book in the third. The teal is a little brighter than expected - I’d go for a grey if I had to do it again, but still like it enough to keep it. My recliner has the electric footrest & back and the cover works fine with that.

These are first sofa protectors I've ever used that STAY IN PLACE! I've bought several over the years that would slide down, slide off. The rubber backing and straps keeps these on my cloth upholstered furniture. The colors are beautiful and match my teal and wine furniture. They are soft, good quality and very pretty, too.

Without even unfolding the chair cover, which does seem fairly soft, there was obvious damage in the fabric it was made from (see photos). Also, there was a really bad chemical smell either from the dye used or the fabric itself. Yuck. In fact, my throat is itching from handling it and putting it back in the bag to return.
