Chefman Multi-Function Oval Pressure Cooker 8 Quart Extra Large Programmable Multicooker, 18 Presets to Slow Cook, Sauté, Steam, Sear, Nonstick Pot, Accessories & Recipe Book Included, Stainless Steel

We replaced a Big Boss 8 qt. oval pressure cooker with this one. We had two of the Big Boss and they both failed after a couple years. So we decided to try this one. We've had it for a few months now and use it every week or so. It is just what we wanted - an 8 qt. oval cooker with browning capability. We like the oval design for an 8 qt' cooker because it is not as tall as a round 8 qt. cooker and it fits under the cabinets. This one has the browning function - it's called sear/saute' and it's great for browning hamburger or stew beef or whatever so you don't have to do that in a separate pan. I has all the functions we need and has pre-selected settings for many different dishes which the Big Boss didn't have. It was a little difficult to figure out how to operate it because the instructions were a little unclear but after a few uses we figured it out. Hopefully it will last more than a couple years.

UPDATE: Almost from day one I had trouble with the knob on the glass lid. It never fit right then it striped, then I tried to super glue it and that didnt work. I got on their web site and talked to customer service. They said no problem, would send email to confirm. I got the email, they wanted the numbers off the chefman plate and photos of the trouble. I sent both and they confirmed they would send a replacement knob/screw assembly. I did have to call once or twice, but it did come in a reasonable mount of time and it fits, hold, works greatOriginal Message:--I'm used to using an old fashion pressure cooker, w/the spinner on top and no settings. It boils, cooks and you let the steam out. This is cool cause there are a lot of different ways to use it. There is a bit of a learning curve for me but I'm catching on. Easy to clean, but its a pretty awkward size to store. And its Heavy! But so far I love it, looking forward to incorporating it more into my cooking routine!!

I've adjusted the steam valve and made sure it's in the sealed position. I've checked the gasket and it's secure and creates a seal. The problem is that steam is not being retained. You can hear that the instant pot is almost at pressure, and then the pot makes a click noise and steam starts to release. On the screen "Close LID" is displayed even though the lid is closed and the valve is set to the sealed position. I'm more so upset that I just wasted meat trying to use this. Hopefully the replacement works.Edit:The replacement works fantastically, so I’m guessing that I received a lemon. I would give this (working) product a solid 4/5 stars.

Mine is about a month old. It won't seal. The pressure valve has to be forced up because the pressure won't stay. Very bad product

Well, we are somewhat biased as we purchased the cooker when our second-floor laundry (dryer steamer disconnected and was attached to the cold water feed on the washer that has no shut off) I was sleeping, she out on the patio. Flood most of the second floor and a large part of the 1st floor. We now are waiting for the recovery of the kitchen, laundry, and flooring on both levels. So back to the purpose of this request. The cooker is meeting all our needs and we plan to use it when all is back to normal. Yes, we would recommend.

This is my favorite kitchen appliance ever! I love that it is shaped like my old crockpot and I get the pressure cooker function as well! Highly recommend this product!

Best multi function pot i have had. My last one lasted 11 years. I have no complaints. It works very well and I definitely prefer the oval/oblong shape to the round. I cab fit so much more in it,
