Very useful tool
Super useful thing to have for those who can't hold the wires for a proper solder, where was when I needed it 5 years ago lol

Good Strong magnets
Best part about these helping hands is that they work!Magnets are strong. Goose neck holds its position. Alligator clips come with rubber slip-on sleeves to protect PC board or wires. I like it a lot and recommend it.

Well built, but please specify screw thread
The arms themselves seem well constructed, with little play.My only issue is that it uses some weird screw threads at the ends, and the threads are not specified in the product description of packaging. This information needs to be provided so that customers know what mounting hardware they need! Note that the screw threads on the top and bottom are different.I wish they used a 1/4" thread (the de facto standard for small camera equipment, microphones, etc.) on both ends of the arm. Or at least include screw adapters. An added advantage of using the same thread on both ends is that it would make it possible to screw the two arms together to make a longer arm.

The third and fourth hands I was missing!
I build metal figures out of railroad spikes and trying to line up the arms and legs and other things for brazing can be very frustrating. These hold far better than I had hoped.I mounted them to a plate that I had laying around. That will be my new brazing plate. I still need to have a heavier set as well but I have those coming in soon.I do wish the alligator's opened wider but those things will get figured out as I go along. For now these are doing the job I need them to do.The rubber pads, I did not use but the bases are well made and they will hold fine with the screws provided.

Works like a charm.
These are perfect for a helping hand while painting parts for scale models. I mainly build 1/48 scale and up. I do not believe they would be very useful for smaller parts or objects.

A Useful Third Hand for Soldering
I purchased this for my soldering projects.I build and fly electric, remote control model airplanes and have to solder wires on small components occasionally. Holding a soldering iron in one hand and a wire to solder in another while applying the solder is a handful, for precise results. With this unit, you clip the piece to be soldered on one arm and the wire to be soldered on the other arm. You bend the flexible arms so the wire is touching the part to be soldered and then with your free hand, you hold the iron to the solder and you're done. The arms were packaged with the alligator clips and base unassembled. Not sure how the base mounts to the work surface but I'll figure it out. If the package would include a setup illustration it would get 5 stars.

These make great headset microphone booms!
These make great headset microphone booms! I needed these to make paramotor helmet headsets... I cut a couple inches off of one end, then bolted the base to my 3M headset, stuck and safety wired the microphone from the Midland enclosed helmet push-to-talk system onto the Fstop Labs Flexible Gooseneck Metal Arm and they work great! I will be ordering more as my flight school grows.

Handy to have another pair of hands
Magnets are good. Haven't had a lot of reasons to use them but with some small jobs, it's nice to have an extra set of hands and this works well.

Extra hands
The Product works well. UT there are a couple of issues with it, 1. The coating (a soft plastic) on the Alligator clips is way too susceptible to heat damage, it's the WRONG plastic to use as it either melts or catches alight with a soldering irons tip heat, 2. The mounting method is OK but if you are mounting it this way the manufacturer needs to add an additional nut so that the Alligator clips can be aligned in a suitable angle for the piece being worked on. Currently you have to add considerable stress to the flexible wrapping in order to FORCE the clips into a suitable alignment.
