SonikNEW Vader X 8000RS Spod Reel - Pre-loaded with 200m/30lb Braid!

There are those who argue that because your spodding kit takes such abuse, it should be among the most high end of all your gear. I am not one of those people. I want a spodding kit that takes a beating and performs well and I don’t want to spend a fortune. I want to spend my bigger money on the rods and reels I use for actual fishing. This reel from sonik ticks all boxes. It is available here at an unbeatable price and it, like all sonik gear in my experience, does the job without fuss or drama. And it feels great in the hand- the handle is lovely, the wooden knob feeling premium and the metal handle sturdy. The balance is great and the reel I bought laid its line just about perfectly. For those who may find their line being loaded to the front or back of the spool, there are included shims with clear instructions to help level things out. The bale arm mechanism is sturdy and closed with a reassuring click- important to me because I am buying this reel due to the failure of the bale arm mechanism on my previous spod reel from a well known premium brand- and the drag is a brilliant half turn adjustable. The reel comes pre-spooled with braid about which I have read many complaints. Admittedly the braid is not the best you will buy but I have found it perfectly functional and free from knotting. I did fit a 50lb shock leader and I do soak the braid before use so maybe one (or both) of these little adjustments have helped. The braid is also very thin, so I would recommend a finger stall or glove when casting heavy spombs. All in all, I heartily recommend this reel.

Good reels , cheap and work well for what I'm using them for on the 10ft carp rods.

The reel is better than expected with smooth and quiet operation. Braid is also fine and I have linked a 50lb shock leader to the supplied braid for spombing to avoid cracking off.

Hi reel good smooth action not used yet but o k with it . All so i am waiting for a diawa rod sleeve why is it a long time to come ?

Fisrt cast ended up like a bird's nest. Reel have no problem with well made

This reel is really good for the money, cant fault it.....but the braid is really really bad! Don't be suprised to get crack off's easily & wind knots, even if you wet the braid & dip the rod tip it still happens. Replace braid before using in my opinion....i wish i had!

Some people say stay away from these reels, i say its down to user error why they don’t like them, i have 4 of these reels 3 loaded with mono and one with 30lb braid, use these reels in the correct manner and they will serve you well.
