Fantastic loft for dorm room
This is a fantastic loft. Made a huge difference in the amount of floor space and putting the larger dresser underneath. Perfect addition to a dorm room. A bit tedious to put together but once we figured it out, it’s perfect. Very sturdy!!

Sturdy loft extension; lacks instructions and a good box
We bought this platform for my daughter's dorm room--it's identical to the one that we could have rented for $200, so we'll save money if we use it for a second year. It's very sturdy and easily adjustable, and based on the fact that a rental company uses the same platform, it can hold up to years of use. I gave it only four stars, though, because the box it was shipped in was torn and some of the washers had fallen out; they literally were falling out as it was being delivered to my house, and the deliveryman asked if I wanted to return it immediately. I did not, and fortunately there were extra pieces so it wasn't a problem. There are also no instructions, but looking at pictures online helped me figure out how to put it together without too much trouble. Don't forget: you are only ordering the loft extension (the black section on the bottom in the picture, not the bed frame on top). Despite those issues, it's strong and sturdy, and I'm glad we got it.

very sturdy, but not what picture shows. Read everything.
Very upset and can't do anything. I should have paid more attention to the description. I know it doesn't come with a mattress (there is no mattress in the picture). This only comes with the solid black piece that is on the ground. Do not use the pictures to go by. Unfortunately I am deployed and ordered this for my son for Christmas so I wasn't there to notice it wasn't what I thought. Good news is they will get a top for it and be up and running in a few days.

The poor instructions didn't show or say which bolts and nuts ...
As mentioned in previous reviews, this product could really use some decent instructions. It came in three boxes with enough surplus nuts, bolts, and washers to put together 3 or four kits. Disconcerting, but every hole in the frame had a bolt in it when I finished so I think I'm ok. The poor instructions didn't show or say which bolts and nuts went where, so I did the best I could. Despite that, it was fairly intuitive to set up. Hardware (plus) included but tools are not. You'll need a deep 13mm socket and wrenches to tighten the bolts and nuts.

I love this thing -- just a few suggestions for buyers
I have to give this 5 stars because it's exactly what I wanted and saved me buying a brand new loft bed at upwards of $1000. My only gripe is the lack of clear instructions. I read the other reviews about lack of materials and was concerned, but my unit came with an abundance of bolts, nuts, washers, and lock washers with a label on one of the bags describing what each bag of materials was for: the 1" bolts are for X, the 2" bolts are for Y, the 3" bolts are for Z. Seriously, I have a ton of materials left over... I also got a piece of paper with 6 steps describing how to put the thing together; however, it wasn't specific at all. In fact, it only mentions the bolts. I figured I'd need to put a washer with the bolt head and the nut with the lock washer on the end of the bolt. I still have no idea if that was the intention, but that's what I did. It's also a bit difficult to position the legs exactly the width apart that you intend even when measuring so be sure to have some cardboard and a hammer at the ready if you get it wrong. I was about an inch shy and had to hammer the inner braces out of the outer braces and then re-position one of the the legs to make everything fit. All told, I'm on day four of sleeping on this thing and couldn't be happier. I would caution people to think of a bed rail or some support if you're putting a standard bed frame on this loft. I've never rolled off the bed but it's something to consider when you're 5' off the ground (the loft is 36" plus my bed at about 14" plus the mattress). Overall, it was a smart purchase and I'm thrilled.

Great product, missing parts.
The product itself is fantastic -- full adjustable for length and width but not height. My problem was that it arrived at my university missing three quarters of the bolts and nuts to put it together. Luckily there is a hardware store nearby and I am mechanically capable so I just made a few measurements and $30 later from the hardware store and about an hour and half of work -- it was all put up!Love the set up, just wish it had come with all the parts. There are no directions either, you will just have to figure it out -- not that difficult.Other information: I am around 6''2' and 225 pounds. When properly put together and tightened up, it barely even wobbles under my weight.
