I got this to replace the 50 ft harbor freight winch cable. First test was a 09 chevy traverse with a bad crank sensor. Pulled it bout 50 feet to get it where I needed to have it to work. I did have to cut a couple strands off it to get it to fight on my winch, but even if I only have to pull something 70-80 feet its still more then the steel cable that was on it

I have been wanting to swap out the steel cable on my Harbor Freight winch, but they have been out of stock. The HF replacement rope is an 85' one which looks very much like this one, but I was not totally sure I could get 100' on the spool. It took me a moment to figure out how to get the original cable off, but it wasn't too bad. The only sticking point I came across was that the actual hole in the lug on the rope was smaller that the bolt that holds it to the drum. I had to drill the hole out a couple of sizes larger to get the bolt through the hole. After that, it was just a simple matter of rolling the rope onto the drum and hoping it all fit. It was a little close; however, it did fit fine with a bit of room to spare. All in all, a 20 min operation and I dropped several pounds of steel off my front end and got a much safer winch line. I could not be happier about the price or the quality (haven't winched under load yet, but don't foresee any problems). Slight hiccup with the lug hole size, but this was never advertised as a direct fit for my winch so no fault on their part.

This rope has performed FAR beyond any hopes I had for it. I have had many winches, and ALL had steel cable/ropes. I bought this to replace a steel rope on my current truck/winch, and have used it to pull things well beyond the listed maximum strength. I'm sure it's "wrong", but I am truly impressed with this rope. While trying to get a skid steer unstuck, I had it connected with a thicker/higher rated rope, and the other one broke, while this one held fast. I don't normally review items unless they are horrible, but this one is really very good, so I made an exception.

There's zip tie marks on the rope. Not sure if these will be weakened areas of not.

Use for emergency tow line for my UTV, comes in handy when your buddy is stuck.

The line is good but the splice has to be redone. I pulled back the tubular nylon sheath from the hook end and the line was only buried 12”. With a 3/8” line to calculate the bury length, take 3/8x21x3.5=27.5625 and then round up to 28”. This was less than half that. If you are good with making new splices then I recommend this. If you are not confident with splicing, buy something else.

After reading other reviews, thought I'd measure my newly arrived rope. It came in at 99'.At less than a buck a foot I'm not going to make a big deal out of this......Just so you know, you may come up short if expecting 100'.
