How to Future: Leading and Sense-Making in an Age of Hyperchange presents the field of strategic foresight in straightforward, practical terms. The book confirmed many of the concepts and processes that our team has in place at Autodesk. So for companies just getting started with their own foresight teams, this book is a good place to start.

Authors know their stuff but do not write clearly. I’ve read many books of this kind and this is the hardest to follow. A real lack of linear explanation and unhelpful diagrams. Not for a beginner. I was only able to make sense of this book because I’ve read other books on this topic, like Amy Webb’s The Signals Are Talking.

I have to agree with the previous reviewer that this was not the easiest book to follow. I’ve taken few courses in futures studies and managed to get through but without such a background I would look for other titles. Definitely not the first title to read about the topic!

A comprehensive yet easy to follow handbook for thinking about and preparing for/working with the future. A good place to start in how to think and work like a futurist.
