Excellent sound quality for the price!
I had been toying with the idea of sound hole pickups and decided to experiment on one of my second-line guitars (a Sigma dreadnought, which is a second-line Martin). I figured this would be a test before launching into working on my 1976 Guild. I am so wonderfully pleased with how this pickup sounds with even a small Fender amp. I have that Sigma tuned to open D, and this Amumu pickup has turned what was an OK guitar into a very rich-sounding instrument. So, the product is great. However, if you're going to go the DIY installation route, here's what to know before you go. Invest in the right tools to enlarge the endpin hole to the diameter it needs to be. I wanted to be careful and go slow, so I bought a T-handle reamer that had a max diameter of 1/2" (and Amumu said go no wider than that. That was good for a start but because the reamer had a graduated shape, the hole diameter was uneven. It did make a good safe start for the eventual drilling required to make everything even. The installation instructions say you can get by drilling the endpin hole to 15/32" or 31/64". I strongly recommend a 31/64" drill bit. The threads on the jack seem to be exactly at 15/32, which means getting the jack into the newly drilled hole is a bear if you use that gauge bit. If you do drill, be sure to use a power driver that you have good torque and speed control for. When all was said and done, I was highly pleased with the result and will have much greater confidence working on my vintage first-line Guild when I buy another of these pickups.

Great pick up, Glad I bought it.
I put this pick up on my Epiphone Dove guitar, what a difference, I play the guitar through the PA system and now it has a rich sound. The other guitars that I play out with will soon have this pick up on them, I have paid a lot more for pick ups on my acoustic guitars, but the quality of the sound of this one is better than others I have purchased. This is a great quality at a reasonable price.

Works!
The instructions are in plain English but in less detail than could be desired. If you want to insert the jack (from the inside) through an end pin hole you'll have to figure out how to do it yourself. Some possible methods: get a 7 year old to do it (a 9 year old's arm is already too big), use a Stew-Mac tool, or thread a wire thru the little holes in the jack and fish it through. AAnother heads up, there is a volume knob on the pickup, at first I did not realize why the pickup was producing no sound.Instructions say a preamp is needed but I am getting plenty of level through a guitar amp with no pre.Sound is rather bright but you can tweak it with the EQ on your amp or PA.

Pleasantly surprised
I have a 2008 Epiphone Hummingbird, which does not have electronics. If I would have waited just a few months, the Fishman system would have been standard on this guitar. Anyway, I used my other Acoustic for church services, and the '08 on occasion (non-mic'd prayer meetings, campfire stuff...). When the need to play more acoustic popped up - I knew it was time to install a pickup on this one.Price wasn't really the object - but the fact that the AMUMU SP60 is very affordable helped weigh my decision. I was considering the EMG ACS system but did not want to take off strings to change batteries. LR Baggs and Seymour Duncan were essentially the same pickup but cost considerably more than the AMUMU. And those were single coil, this is a humbucker. My hopes were high.Well, this pickup made a decent 'cheap' guitar sound amazing! From the moment I plugged in, everything about this guitar was different. More lifelike. Thunderous lows and sweet highs (in a cheap dreadnaught with veneer top) are there to spare. Thus far, I keep the volume knob pegged at full and control the volume through the amp.Quality build, very simple installation. Although I did not install the jack through the end strap button - I drilled a separate hole. Reason? My other acoustic has that end pin. And I don't care how tight you make it - the strap WILL loosen the input jack, so you will be re-assembling the jack every time you change strings. (most of you know what I am talking about)Look - if you are shopping here for an after-market acoustic pickup, let me influence you to purchase the AMUMU SP60. Get off the fence and go for it.

Good clear sound and no hum performance at a reasonable price.
I replaced a much more expensive L R Baggs M1 with this item Far cheaper and quiet hum free operation very natural sound. I use Tony Rice bluegrass strings ( Monel) and this pickup reproduces the clear sound of these excellent strings very well. The pickup does have a volume control and can be as loud as you might want. I was surprised this passive pickup could be this loud without a preamp, just straight into the amp. I'm happy!

Excellent Passive Pickup With Great Tone And Low Price
I bought this pickup to replace an active piezo system on my 12 string Martin, and was so impressed I felt compelled to write a guitar magazine-style review.Pros:It's passive, so no need for batteryIt's a humbucker so it's noiseless. The tone is almost identical to the much more expensive L.R. Baggs M1 Active, but oddly it has MORE output. It works great for strumming and picked soloing. It attaches very easily, and the unit looks very professional, minimalistic.Cons:Maybe it's just me, but fingerpicking was harder to do on the AMUMU as opposed to a piezo. I have a feeling it's just a matter of adjusting to the way the pickup works and feels. One thing to keep in mind if you are used to using a piezo pickup, this pickup will definitely sound and feel different. I'm only one gig into my journey with this pickup, but I know for sure that it's going to stay on my guitar. It a significantly different tone from the piezo, but it's a good tone. I will probably end up doing a two pickup system with a piezo and this one just to have some tonal variety, but I look forward to using just this one for a while and learning about all of it's sonic possibilities.
