A must-have guide for restorative yoga enthusiasts
Having recently discovered the joys of restorative yoga and meditation, I was thrilled to come across Caren Baginski’s book, “Restorative Yoga: Relax. Restore. Re-energize.” I first found Caren Hope on YouTube and regularly follow her restorative yoga classes. She often refers to this book in her videos, suggesting it for those who want to delve deeper into the practice. The book is beautifully photographed and thoughtfully laid out, making it easy to follow. Just like Caren’s teaching methods, the instructions are clear and will leave you feeling relaxed and restored. One of the highlights is how she suggests various props and alternatives you may have around the house, ensuring that you can do the poses even without specialized equipment. Her detailed guide on folding a yoga blanket is incredibly helpful.I particularly appreciate the step-by-step timed sequences, which are perfect for readers who may not know how long to hold each pose. This book is not only insightful but also reasonably priced, making it a valuable addition to any yoga library. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get into restorative yoga or those wanting to deepen their practice.

great for home and studio use
As a yoga instructor, this book was helpful for providing options and modifications for my restorative yoga classes. Not all the props are always available in the studio, but it gives plenty of options. Especially for home practice. It adds a deeper restful experience that my classes appreciated.

Standout resource on restorative yoga
As a yoga teacher, I have a LOT of yoga books! What makes this one stand out most is how easy it is to use, and how thoroughly it covers the practice of restorative yoga. The images and instructions make it so accessible to try the various shapes and modify for your own body. (Bonus: it even lays nicely on its own if you need to keep it open to reference throughout your practice.) The book is incredibly informative about both the physical and spiritual benefits of the practice -- but in a way that, again, feels so accessible even if you're completely new to the practice. The writer's tone is informative yet approachable. A must-have for beginners and seasoned practitioners, really anyone looking for concrete ways to slow down and tune in.

Applying one posture before starting a daily session is really ideal
The book gives a new dimension to the approach to yoga in everyday life. It would be ideal for each practitioner before starting his regular yoga practice to do 1 or 2 postures that suit his living environment, and only then start his regular practice (sadhana). For example, if you stand for a long time or walk during the day, a position like Stonehenge is ideal for resting your legs and relaxing your whole body and achieving a feeling of deep, healthy sleep. In the same way, supported Child's position is ideal for people with a very stressful lifestyle. Applying one posture before starting a session of 30 to 40 minutes of practicing daily yoga asanas is really ideal. Thera are many ideas for everyone's life style.A deeper approach to practicing only restorative yoga requires trying out aids such as bolsters, chairs, blocks, etc. And that again requires investment in appropriate equipment. If you have the opportunity to try the equipment before buying it - that's just your gain. And if you don't have one - you can correct some things with blankets or towels. But not all poses (our bodies have unique dimensions and the ratio of those dimensions). On the other hand, using too many aids can after some time put you in a position where you spend more time preparing for a position than you are staying in a position (a bit stressful for me, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's stressful for other people). In any case, this is a book worth studying. Everyone can find something useful in it for health and improve their lifestyle in it.

Relax. Restore. Re-energize.
Through Caren's restorative poses and easy to follow instructions, this book reminds us that everything is going to be okay and that where you are right now is exactly where you need to be. Caren is an inspiration and beautiful writer and this book is a reflection of her being and knowledge. I have given this book as a gift to my friends and co-workers. I think it makes a great idea for a 'wishing you well' book for a birthday, graduation, or even retirement. Thank you Caren for helping me relax, restore and re-energize!

Restorative Yoga book
I bought this book this month initially because of the cover. I’ve taken yoga classes in the past but was too much of a strain on my back. I noticed the person on the cover used a pillow and thought that would be a great idea so I bought the book. I ordered the pillow through Amazon and received it before I got the book. I didn’t know there was such a thing as restorative yoga using different props. After reading through the book I ordered other props and blankets. This form of yoga is so meditative and relaxing with no strain on the body which I absolutely love. I usually have pain, which can last about a week, in my back caused by a horseback riding accident more than five years earlier. I’ve only done it a few days and I feel a difference in my back already. I am believing it will continue and that would make me very happy. I love it.
