Excellent Beans for Cold Brew
Hawaiian coffee beans have been my favorite for years, and Kalua Estates offers high quality for a good value. The taste is robust and bright, and when I make it in my cold brew pitcher, it enhances the smoothness and fruitiness.

Smooth and Mellow Taste
I see a lot of coffee purists and/or coffee afficionado's are upset that it is only 10% Hawaiian coffee. I don't get bothered by that as long as the taste is good and this coffee is delicious! Plus it keeps the price lower. No bitterness in this batch. My first pot was made too strong and it was still a mellow flavor without any bitterness. Today's pot was made perfectly and it could not taste any better. Where ever they are getting the other 90% of their coffee, it still better than most coffees I have tried. The flavor profile is definitely not nutty or chocolaty but has more of a floral note. It is a true medium roasted coffee bean, so a little goes a long way. One thing I can't answer is whether this company is consistent with their beans. I buy a medium whole bean coffee from my local supermarket and it is usually the best coffee for the money but as of late the beans have been really light roasted and I have to double the amount of coffee to get the right flavor. If this company is consistent with their roast, they will get my business.

Lite on caffeine and only 10% Kona
I should have paid more attention to the description as I was looking for a MUCH higher Kona percentage; my bad there. I grind this medium and use it in a replaceable K-Cup (4 nozzle) adapter. That said, the resulting coffee is actually really pretty good, and to be honest, I'd prefer it with a little less caffeine, so it works out well for me. Just wish it was a higher percentage of Kona, but again, my bad and not a reflection of the product. This coffee has slightly less caffeine than what I get out of a regular major brand K cup (as used in that application; have not compared it drip to drip style).

Great coffee, fast delivery
This is one of the few kinds with caffeine and flavor that doesn't cause heartburn for us. It's fairly pricey in our supermarket (Publix), and the whole beans are frequently out of stock, so I ordered here twice already. It arrived quickly both times in spite of our remote area and terrible weather! Now we can have our freshly ground morning fix.Pro tip: Get a medium quality burr grinder, ours cost 50 bucks.

very weak compared to other brands I've tried.
I want to preface this by acknowledging that different batches may have different characteristics andthe coffee I received my not necessarily be what other batches may have been like. But that havingbeen said, this coffee was very weak when brewed using my usual method...30 grams of fresh groundbeans to 450 grams of water using a Clever Dripper. I had to increase the coffee amount to 40 gramsjust to get anywhere near the taste and strength I enjoy. Also, the coffee has a slight vinegary sweetnesswhen ground on the fine side ( I use a Wilfa uniform grinder and normally set it to between 18 and 22depending on the amount of bitterness I taste). I experimented more than usual with this coffee becauseof it's weak character and for my preference, 40.5 grams coffee to 450 grams of water and a settingof 20 on my grinder gave the best results...for me. My personal preference is to not taste any hintof sweetness in coffee, which always leaves a bit of a sickly, vinegar like aftertaste that has me dumpingmy cup down the drain faster than just about anything. However, in reading through the reviews, it seems some people enjoy that, so they may not see it as a negative at all. Overall, I don't think I wouldbuy this coffee again. Certainly not the worst I've ever had, but compared to Tim Hortons at a much lower price, and in my opinion a better tasting cup, I'll keep searching for something better.

Pleasant, rich flavor
Beans arrived in fairly fresh condition, not too dry. Rich, balanced flavor without excess bitterness - and none of the 'vegetal' green pepper or tomato flavors that some varieties/roasts have. Pretty decent decaf bean, overall - Will probably order more!

Just really good coffee at a decent price
I don't really know much about coffee or prices, but this is very tasty coffee and the price seems decent too. Just recently got into grinding beans myself from buying pre-ground coffee and there is a difference!
