Excellent "sock" filter for most applications.
Great for any application where constant flow allows this filter to do its job over several capacity cycles. It won't give you a true 1 Micron filtration on a single pass, but if the system is constantly circulating it will definitely pull out darn near everything bigger than that 1 Micron size over a few hours. It took out the nagging last bit of particulate in an infusion system we use for making flavored waters. But, again, it won't do a great job on a single pass, it needs to be in the flow for at least a few hours. We perc our solutions for 3-5 days to ensure complete infusion and this sock filter sits in the sump inside the enclosed processing cabinet and after a couple of days it is obviously doing a much better job than the floss and cheese cloth and poly mats we were using. After the 4th day it is nearly impossible to even lens any particulate.

Worked great for what I needed
I was having a problem with small particles passing through my pool filter and was not able to get the cloudiness out of the water. I attached this filter to my return line and within 4 hours the filter was brown and the pool was looking exceptionally better.

We use it to filter our pool water and it does an amazing job!
Our pool had dead yellow algae that that was too small for the sand filter to catch and vacuuming to waste wasted way too much water, salt and chemicals. The pictures are before during and after 24 hours using the one(1) micron filter, don't get anything larger than a one(1). We were able to wash the bag and reuse it. We use it a lot not because it makes the water crystal clear. As it gets dirty the micron size is reduced and then it catches even smaller particles. It is saving us time and money! The handles eventually broke from the weight but I simply drilled holes in the top ring and used plastic wire ties to hold it.UPDATE Summer of 2022: We ordered a new filter bag as the old one that gave us amazing service broke. It lasted much longer than expected. The new filter bag is not as good as the old filter bag. I think it may be a 5 micron and not a 1 micron. It does not feel the same either. It is helping some but nothing like the first one. They went from 5 stars to 3 stars for us.

Had big hole in it when i received it. So sad waist of money!
Had a big hole in the side making filter useless didn't realize it until today when I opened it to use it. Return window closed a couple days ago. So upset really needed this. Had to cut in half to bypass the hole now it's to short.

Not 50 micron as described
So I wrote a positive review when this product first arrived as it looked to be good quality and arrived quickly. However, when we used the product, everything we were filtering went straight through the filter sock. Literally everything. As we know we had particles larger than 50 microns, there should have been biomass left in the sock. This told us that the filter sock was not a 50 micron as described and therefor was useless. When filters are described as a certain micron size, it is usually pretty important that they basically meet that requirement, so for this to fall completely short was to say the least disappointing. I would not recommend.
