Pavarotti: Greatest Hits

Too bad I Did it My Way is on this 2 cd set. At least I avoided his other pop duets.He is truly the voice of the century.Power and sweetness.He did do a great duet with James Brown It's a Man's World. Thankfully it is not on these cds.Caruso is a particularly great performance. An enigmatic pop song written in 1986 about the bittersweet feelings of Enrico Caruso when he was dying and who speaks them to a woman. Which one it is is the mystery. He had a number of sad entanglements with a few wives and a daughter.The opening piano notes are so poignant and Luciano's rendition a little better than the many good ones out there.Otherwise the selections are famous Arias or Recitals performed like no on else could.

Yes, the price is a little high but amongst the many official and unofficial Pavarotti compilations out there, this is the most comprensive compilation available. Disc 1 is a Pavarotti classical compilation, gathering his most notorious arias performances, Disc 2 is Pavarotti "popular" compilation, having songs like My Way and Caruso. So you get both sides of Pavarotti, classical and popular. The selection as you can see is great. Why did I give it 4 and not 5 stars? Because the quality of the sound recording is not that great (im not saying is awful but is like 6.5 out of 10) and the booklet is very omise and lack a lot of information, actually, I wouldnt call it a booklet. Anyway, you just cant get a compilation like this. Thats why I bought it. It could have been 5 stars, but it is 4.

Who wouldn't love this man. He has the most beautiful voice of all time. NO ONE in my opinion can compare. I purchased several of his CD's and plan to purchase as many as I can even if I have to listen to some I have already heard. I even purchased a Bose to hear him and I keep it at my bedside and some nights I turn it low and listen to Pavarotti all night. It brings out the most beautiful voice and its like you are sitting in the orchestra section!

Hay what can I say ... never much into this sort of music, but he changed my mind. After hearing his Nessun Dorma I checked out all the others whom have song it, and no one can even come close. The emotions are not only in his voice, but in his faced and eyes. Pavarotti must had have some tragity in his life to be ab;e to come across like that .... later found out this was his last concert as he had throat cancer.

This is my first such venture into the realm of opera but I heard Pavarotti on the radio one day and decided to take a leap of faith into a new musical listening experience. I am not sophisticated in such music nor do I understand the Italian language but Pavarotti's vocal range is astounding. I enjoyed the album and would recommend it to other explorers who would care to expand their musical listening experience.

I should have read the reviews first! The people that complained about poor CD quality were dead on. The first CD's recording level is very low. My system can barely amplify it. The second CD is fine. I give Pavarotti 5 stars, but only two on my review overall due to volume issues...Pete

i had forgotten the power n range n emotion he sings with. this 2 cd set covers a lot of opera and some resent work as well.i don't know when another tenor will replace him.look how long it took to get into Caruso's fame.

If you love music, you owe it to yourself to hear the greatest singer to have ever been recorded. This is a collaboration of his best work, including duets with Sinatra ( My Way) and other top notch vocalist. This is a must have CD for classical music aficionados to Zeppelin fans.

If you love this man you will love this cd - I had it playing while in shower & no joke I actually stopped showering with my hands in air singing to one of Pavarotti's songs, I grew up with opera as my Dad is a major fan so if you love Pavarotti buy this cd 😀😀😀

the master of opera what more can be said about such a great man!! the cds themselves work just fine great condition at an amazing price that arrived on time

CD is a gift, so not listened to it, but CD case arrived with a crack in the back so disappointed.
