BIC Multi-Purpose Lighter

I live in a mobile home park owned by cheap, incompetent individuals who lack professionalism in park management. Our electricity gets turned off on a pretty regular basis "for maintenance," and because the owners are too stubborn to hire anyone else aside from their friends (who aren't professionals) to fix the issues, their "fixes" are always temporary, and therefore these problems persist.As a result of having no electricity on a regular basis (especially at night time), I now have an abundance of candles set up around the house to accommodate my desire to not be blind against my will. That's where this lighter comes in handy.If you need a lighter to light your candles when you don't want to be blind while living at a place that is run by less than stellar individuals who don't care about your basic needs, this is the lighter for you. It will always be there for you when you need it, unlike the mobile home park owners myself and many others have to deal with. Pair this lighter with some nice candles, and you're successfully back to the dark ages (which is better than the blind ages) with a new twist; flame from an appropriately sized plastic gadget, and no need for matches! It's pretty great.

This lighter does exactly what I wanted it to. I bought it because the pilot light in my oven goes out a lot, and I needed something that could reach under the stove to relight it. This works perfectly.I noticed that a lot of other reviews mention that it's hard to use. You do have to push down an extra safety thing at the same time as pressing the ignite button, but I haven't had much trouble doing it. I wouldn't recommend it for elderly people who have trouble firmly gripping things, though, as you do need to have a fairly firm grip.

We were in search of a white lighter per the photo, but this photo does not depict the color way . We received the blue one. Brand new in great working order, but not per photo.

I originally gave this 2 stars, but it's because I wasn't using it right. If you just push the trigger immediately, this lighter won't light most of the time. The reason is that the gas does not have enough time to get to the front because the tube is pretty long.Instead, half-press the trigger for a second or so, then push it all the way to make the ignition spark. Similar to the way you use a digital camera - half press to focus, full press to take the picture. This way it will ignite every time.The flame is pretty big (bigger than a standard Bic lighter).

wow this is huge big but works very well you need to click in both button one is around the handle hold them both at the same time and it will light up the flame I use this too light my incense sticks don't listen to the review here this works very well I am happy I brought it yes I do recommend this

I didn't do enough research on this product - I was under the impression that the tip could be put at an angle from the lighter for deep candles, it cannot. It can only be operated as it appears in the picture. This makes it hard to light deep candles as I have to put it upside down and the flame gets weird, and somewhat hot.It is also hard to light with the safety button - might just be my unit, seems like it shouldn't be so difficult. I can't seem to push the child safety and pull the trigger button with only 1 hand.I would not buy again and I would not recommend this item - there are better designed ones out there, I just didn't look hard enough. I also think it's too expensive and would have been cheaper if I'd bought it in a store rather than online through amazon.

The lighter is fine but if I pick a white color one and pay for it please give me the white one not pink.
