National Velvet

The notice on Amazon dd not show that it was not usable in India (different zone). Ordering it from India on Amazon.in I very reasonably assumed it would be in the correct zone for India, but it is not. I have no use for it now, money wasted. I have complained to Amazon and have not received any response.

I am 9 years old and I love this movie more than any other one. It is interesting to watch. It was exciting to see what Velvet had to do to be part of the Grand National. She was very brave to jump on a horse as wild as Pie and compete in the fastest, hardest and longest horse race in that time. It was strange to see that a girl had to pretend to be a boy to compete. If you love horses you will love this movie.

This is actually a good film beautifully shot with some nice scenes between Elizabeth Taylor and Angela Lansbury before they became famous in their separate careers. Taylor is a really good actress, and you believe her when she says that one day she wants to become a famous horse rider. It is at this point that the story kicks in and becomes more than just a painting of youthful Taylor and Lansbury. Although the film is over two hours, it doesn't drag its feet because you are on the journey with the little Elizabeth Taylor who has a big dream and is a good actress.

Bought this for my multi region DVD player on which it works great. It was cheap and the film provides you with some good wholesome uplifting viewing which you often do not find with today's trashy tv.Some uk reviewers have complained that it doesn't work with their uk DVD players and given poor reviews which is very unfair. The item is clearly described as being a region 1 DVD so will therefore only work in the USA or for those of us over here who have multi region DVD players which can handle all DVD formats.My advice to you is to buy this DVD and then treat yourself to a multi region DVD player so that you can buy more cheap us region 1 DVDs to play on your machine in the future!

love this film

I bought this DVD as a present for my daughter who loves horses. We also bought her a Day at the Races and this seemed a good companion for that present. I'm sure it will be well received and enjoyed.

Very happy but old Dvd case a bit shabby. Film quality perfect tho. Already watched and loved all over again.

This product does not work I would like to be advised on how I can receive a working copy please?

Right film unfortunately didn't notice when ordered was region 1 so it's had no use
