Been in the saddle for 40 years and let me tell you this is the nicest set of chaps I have worn. The leather is thick but not too stiff that it doesn't give when moving your legs around. The finish is excellent and the zippers are heavy duty and smooth (wouldn't expect anything else from YKK)!! I believe the most important measurements to go by for size are the waist & thigh measurements. The waist has room for adjustment with the laced back and buckle front but, the thigh needs to be pretty close to spot on otherwise it won't zip up all the way or it will be too baggy around the leg. As for the inseam/total length, these seem to be made plenty long unless you happen to be a basketball star. I normaly wear a 32W/30L in jeans and so I got the 32 chaps (which incedently was perfect for my thigh measurement of 20&1/2-21) and they fit beautiful...not too tight...not too loose!!! The only adjustment I needed to make was to trim about 1&1/2 inch off the bottom to make the legs the right length. As for the small pocket...what I carry is either clipped on my belt, in one of my pockets or in the bags. Don't need no stinkin pocket!!! Xelement seems to make great quality leather goods at a very decent price. I have one of their jackets also (B96333 "Flying Mayhem") and it is great too. Buy the chaps...you won't regret it!!!

Product size out the bag was large, but I expected this because they are for men. But most important fit was the thigh and that was goid fir meI Ordered the men's sz 50 (Amazon Prime) to comfortably allow for thermals and jeans underneath for those 40-50 degree ride days.The accordion thigh inserts are what caught me attention about these chaps. My weight gain tends to pool in my lower body :-(I love the expandable zippers on the back of the thigh.There are ample snaps at the bottom of the leg. Of course, they were too long (I'm 5'6") and waist was too large, but I had my leather tailor adjust this and added 2 extra belt holes. He removed approx 5-in from the bottom.My husband is going to cut the long leather string in the back and turn the remnants into zipper pulls :-)Very pleased with my purchase. Took them on a 3 hr test ride today and I can say I experienced no hyperthermia in my legs. I recommend

I have got really skinny legs that get cold easily when riding motorcycles, these chaps have saved my life on multiple occasions.

It was difficult to figure out what size to order. I got lucky the first time. When you order these, order them according to the size of your thigh. Look at the sizing chart. Don't order strictly by your waist or inseam. They have lacing in the back so there is a wide latitude for that. They come quite long, on purpose I think. There is no hem on the legs, this is I believe so you can cut them to length, I did. You may also want to reinforce the stitching on the ends of the zippers, I did. I had one start to come loose the first time I tried them on. The leather is nice and flexible, not binding. It's 20 degrees where I live right now so I haven't got to try them on the bike but I'm sure they will be just fine.

I have never actually owned chaps before so I wasn't sure how to order them. But as the previous review suggested, order your pant size. Can't go wrong. I may have to trim mine a little, but they are made to trim easily if you need.A little hard to tell from the picture, they have vertical zippers that start at the top and then zip down. Innovative! I know that the type that zip UP, sometimes unzip themselves. These cannot do that!Small zipper behind the thigh to allow for larger legs. And a little elastic on the inner thigh too (can't see it behind the leather.)Leather ties on the back of the belt to further get these to your size. Cool look, too.These got here pretty quickly, and came with an invoice sheet/return sheet if something isn't perfect, which they are.Sadly I could only give 5 stars.

Just want to start out and say I've never bought a pair of chaps before wasnt sure on what size to get. The size chart that is listed is true to your size im a 30×34 and i ordered a 30 and they fit very well. Very happy with them
